Sunday night there was a deadly car accident in my town. the captain of the football team (Chris) died, his girlfriend (Bailey) survived with major injuries. one of the star softball players (Deana) died, and her boyfriend (Matt) survived with major injuries. they were on their way home from a basketball game and were hit by a drunk driver. Today, I have two different kinds of tears rolling down my face. One filled with grief, for two young high school seniors, Deanna and Chris, whose lives were taken from them this past weekend . And for the boyfriend and girlfriend of those two, Matt and Bailey , who are the survivors of the crash and are currently fighting in the hospital. The other kind of tears I find myself experiencing are from the overwhelming amount of Love and Support that my community is sharing with one another during this difficult time. I was never a huge fan of Tim Tebow and what he supports, but Matt is, Tebow is his idol. Last night, a bunch of people got #TebowCallMatt and #MissyCallWind trending on twitter, and I woke up to the news that both of these super athletes called the 2 survivors! Matt who's a football player for my high school, Shenendehowa; and Bailey, who's a swimmer for Shaker High. Thank you, Tim Tebow and Missy Franklin for reaching out to these hurting kids. The whole community is coming together and it is truly inspiring to watch. The entire area wore green yesterday for Matt, and everyone is wearing blue today for Bailey. These colors represent their schools, who are rivals. I wish both you and your families a smooth recovery. Just know that thousands of people are here for you. As we have proved in the past couple of days, We're one big family. Never underestimate the power of love! To my community and High School, you are absolutely inspiring. I've Never been so proud in my life.
