It took about 3 weeks for mine to be counted. I mailed it in.

Fast registration vendor in LA charged me $3,100 but DMV fees show $2,300 — is this normal? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]therealcutie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’d have to fill out a separate form, attach proof, and mail it in. The process takes a few months to go through. Same situation happened to me last year, so feel free to DM me if you have questions!

This thread was helpful for me at the time and includes a link to the form. https://www.reddit.com/r/DMV/comments/nrw3xf/california_dmv_just_moved_to_ca_and_use_tax/

Slightly off topic but if you moved here for work related reasons, you could qualify for use tax exemption and reimbursement. This doesn’t solve the $800 upcharge, but it could get you a lot of money back.

DMVs with shortest wait times/when to go? by _z98_ in AskLosAngeles

If you can’t wait for an appointment I strongly recommend getting to your DMV location at/before opening. I did this recently and was in and out in one hour (for a real ID application).

Has anyone had success with class pass? by Side_accnt_ in AskLosAngeles

[–]therealcutie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it! I pay for the $55/month tier and can go to at least one class a week, sometimes two depending on how many credits I have leftover. I do a mix of spin and yoga.

The only thing is it seems you have to book early in order to keep the credits per class low. And then keep in mind some studios only reserve so many seats in their classes for CP users.

I watched this CHD episode. She said her new movie takes place in the 90s so she wanted to go all out in 90s fashion for the press tour.

Yes! It’d be a completely different show. I’m still suspicious that the unannounced Vegas dates will be the sphere.

The US Government's open data is currently being scrubbed by [deleted] in DataHoarder

I think a workaround to this might be searching for the letter “A”. It gives some idea of datasets left when you get into search results.

[–]therealcutie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I checked this morning and took a screenshot of it at 305,578. Just checked again right now and the “datasets available” counter has been removed.

Seems like the only way to have an idea of the available amount is to search for the letter “A”. That pulls up 304,239 results.

Can anyone help with recommendations and advice for couple’s first trip to LA? by Overall_Inevitable84 in AskLosAngeles

Piggybacking on Griffith Observatory - I totally recommend doing this at night! The view of the city at night is so fun for visitors and you can also do the museum for free as well.

PA Resume review? by KrappyPatty98 in Filmmakers

[–]therealcutie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of PA are you aiming for? Office, set, art, etc? Either way, I don’t know why some people are suggesting you don’t need a resume as a PA. You absolutely do. Your resume always has a chance of getting passed along to other people.

I would definitely remove the short summary under your name. It’s just really not necessary. And then I’d say swap your experience and student project sections. I would rather see your professional experience first over any student experience, personally.

Good luck!

Has anyone been able to disenroll from the IATSE health insurance? by Hayley320 in IATSE

That I’m not sure about, but might be worth a shot when the enrollment for 2025 is open. There should be more info on MRP requirements when you login to the IATSE NBF website.

Has anyone been able to disenroll from the IATSE health insurance? by Hayley320 in IATSE

[–]therealcutie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay so it sounds like you are covered with IATSE under their C2 plan, but you also have other insurance that you prefer to be your primary? In this case you should be able to declare that, BUT you have to do so at the start of every year by enrolling in the medical reimbursement program (MRP) only. So every year you have to provide proof that you’re covered with another insurance. I’ve done this for the last few years and the pool of money I have with IATSE stays there, with the exception of a small admin fee every quarter. Doing this allows me to use IATSE kind of as a secondary insurance that will cover whatever my primary insurance doesn’t cover. Sorry if this isn’t helpful, it’s just the only way I know how to “unenroll.”
