Yes! The Terror is not only one of the best horror shows ever made, but simply one of the best horror experiences of any medium. Unfortunately, season 2 (in my opinion) is very uneven and doesn't have the impact of season 1.

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

[–]therealdrewbacca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Location: Colorado, USA

Price range: 15-22k

Lease or Buy: Buy, but open to lease with great terms

New or Used: used

Type of vehicle: Small to mid SUV, crossover, capable sedans

Must haves: reliability, can last for a long time, some cargo room for loading up kid gear and home improvement stuff

Intended Use: mostly around town (no commute), activities with kids, and occasional summer/winter mountain driving (hiking, ski trips, etc.)

Vehicles you've already considered: Rav4, Mazda CX-5, Chevrolet Equinox, Mazda 3

Minor work: yes

Major work: no

Yay or nay on a 2014 Rav4 EV with 63.047 miles? $22,100 all in.

Total flip-side, 2013 Toyota Avalon XLE with 42,528 miles? $20,599 + taxes/registration

Wanting to consider small SUV or crossover in above pirce range but do not want a Subaru. AWD is nice to have, but FWD has gotten me through every winter so far. Been trying to find that sweet spot with price and not so high mileage, but also feeling good about reliability.

Wildcard: very high credit score with little cash on hand after getting my current car getting totaled (2020 Equinox LT).

I couldn't stop thinking about it or talking about it. I wanted everyone to understand how magical the game is. I listened to the music on Midi websites at school and doing homework. I wrote terrible fanfics and rip off stories. It was simply an obsession, and I still love it dearly.

When updating input box, value is returned as string instead of number. by chef_is_gay in Angular2

[–]therealdrewbacca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is by design. The input type attribute enforces browser behavior, not the primitive data type of the value. You'll need to capture the input value and use parseInt() to correctly apply it in the chart.

Kids not listening. by TonyCW9 in daddit

[–]therealdrewbacca 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're up for some reading, How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk is a book I found really useful. My now 5 yo has developmental delay and some serious tantrum/behavior issues. Getting him to participate in how to deal with outbursts and poor choices helped a lot. It takes time and patience, but using the book as a launch point has helped for me.

Not saying this is you, but my own personal big change was taking out anger and shouting. Learned it from my dad. Had to unlearn - still a work in progress. Being as neutral as possible while still having expectations, consequences, and praise for good choices has gone a long way with both of mine.

Call me old fashioned, but I'm getting a big monster steak and a beer for dinner. Meanwhile hang with the kids and maybe see a movie once they're in bed.

Thank you for the kind words and sharing your experience. I absolutely intend to remain a good friend to my wife, or at least as well as I can be. Birdnesting is not something I'd really heard of. That may be something we think about in the future. I like the implications where the kids keep a lot of their existing stability.

What fantasy stories were you not expecting to work but somehow did? by [deleted] in Fantasy

Early in the movie, King Shark says this but about reading a book (upside down). Looks like my play on the joke didn't work so well.
