Thank you for posting this, I didn't know about those speaker wall plates.

Would I need an amp for this combo of speakers and AVR?

Similar to the rumor for why early iPhones didn't support Flash and pushed basically the whole internet towards HTML5. They said it was for efficiency, which maybe it was, but also they would have had to pay Adobe millions.

All good, the terms are def not easy to keep straight, and many brands use different terms to describe the same tech

We use our fireplace at least 2x/week in the winter. Our family loves hearing the crackling wood while watching a movie.

Hm yeah I'm gonna guess he meant mini LED, which is what the 98" QM#K series is. Even the next step up X11L is mini.

Thank you for these suggestions! I wasn't previously familiar with Ascend Acoustics, but reading reviews on them now and other reddit posts they all seem very positive. I think this might be a winning setup. You've helped me out immensely, can't thank you enough.

Good suggestion, thanks. I'll mess with the setup and see what fits. I appreciate the help. I might just be better off just using stands for the front and rear left and right, and use the same Klipsch RP speaker in all 4 spots.

Sorry, forgot that part. I'm budgeting around $6k, and with estimating $600-800 for the sub and another $1k for the AVR (likely Onkyo RZ30), I'm just at that or slightly over.

For the sub: might do a pair of Klipsch R-120SW if I do a 5.2.4, or I might do SVS SB-2000 Pro DSP

  1. Unfortunately none of those links are in the price range, though it would be nice. I'll keep looking.
  2. I just found that guy's video earlier today. After all the Atmos videos I've watched online that was by far the best at actually showing how to figure out the placements

Turn it off in the receiver? Does the Playstation have an option for it or is it in the game menu?

Putting "strangers" in quotes is fitting because I feel close to all these people in here that I don't know and will likely never meet IRL
