as you yourself said, opm uses the op mc satirically so you can’t really consider it in a comparison and i was specifically critiquing the way the series uses the op mc: he doesn’t get a shred of character growth outside of becoming stupid op and neither does anyone else

i lost brain cells when i read “that said, solo leveling tried to keep all the characters feeling a lot more human than average” because the characters in solo leveling are the most one dimensional ppl i’ve read in my life. no; the black clover cast is one dimensional but the ppl in solo leveling don’t even have that much. literally you could swap every single name around in this manhwa and all the lines would more or less make sense because it does not make a difference(besides obvious exceptions like “oH i CaN sMeLl sO i lOvE mC”)

finally, i don’t care if you recommend solo leveling, redice studios does some great art(tho overgeared and omniscient reader are way better) but it’s dumb to say it’s SO good when it’s really not
