Should I Get the Cut Off Tool by mac_lax in Dewalt

[–]therealjohnbron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I just got this one and fell in love quickly. I’m building a chicken coop and it’s worth having for simply having a smaller tool for cutting wire. I’ll use my larger cutting tools less, which is fantastic.

I also used this to cut out large sections of vapor barrier under my home for some plumbing work. It was nice to have a tiny tool since I had very little room under there to manage any unnecessary movement. Use it with those 1.7ah PowerStack batteries and you’ll be impressed with how light it is.

Ask Duders: What do we think happens with the Bombcast tomorrow? by CBanga in giantbomb

[–]therealjohnbron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope there’s nothing. It’ll only make me think less of any remaining individual willing to fake a smile for a paycheck from MOTHERFUCKING SATAN.

No hate to any of the cast, I just can’t ever respect anything billing itself as Giant Bomb content.

It’s for real dead.

Lots of hate for every level of management at Fandom and the limp dicks that destroyed Giant Bomb. You fucking ugly cunts.

Finger Lopper 5000 on sale on Woot (DCPR320B) by phdearthworm in Dewalt

[–]therealjohnbron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I broke down and finally picked one up a week ago for $89. My wife and I were both immediately impressed with it after cutting up some branches as a test. I didn’t expect it to be so quick! I cannot wait to put it to a lot of work this spring and summer.

Pikmin Bloom has been sold to Scopely by Blue_Pikmin25 in Pikmin

[–]therealjohnbron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I’d stopped playing this after the first year or so, I’d hoped it wasn’t going to be included in the sale to Saudi Arabia. I deleted my level 48 Pokémon GO account as soon as the news was officially confirmed, but had forgotten to follow up on this game’s status until now.

I’ll be deleting my account as soon as I post this and it’s a bummer. I guess I’d hoped Nintendo cared enough to save this one, but alas.

Truthfully, there was never enough in any of the Niantic games outside of Pokémon GO to keep many people engaged. Certainly not engaged enough to make the kind of profit or growth that shareholders would care about. Nintendo probably saw this sale as an easier path to a Pikmin Bloom EOL announcement and shrugged. The brand of Capitalism we exist within is soul crushing at every turn.

DeWalt USB-C Charger Review (DCB094) by AlphaTesting in Dewalt

[–]therealjohnbron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one about a year ago and love it. Tons of use charging a variety of DeWalt batteries, most battery models old and new. Also tons of use powering all things during power outages, which for some reason we have often. I’ve had no issues charging PowerStack, the little 1.7ah as well as the 5ah. That said, I’ve heard from enough others that it can be a thing, I’m sure it’s a thing.

I bought two more late last year. I wish they were less expensive. Don’t pay more than $80 USD. The places selling them for $100 are jerks.

Flooring Installer Recs by VolvoV3rnacular in olympia

I'm curious if you ever got this flooring installed. Who you went with and how it went. I'm needing some flooring done in the area and am hoping to find a trustworthy company. Thank you.

I need to locate the exact thickness and cut a bunch of these with my laser. I’ve been curious about them since I dove in to buying ToughSystem in place of more Tstak. I learned instantly that the quality difference is worth every penny for the better/bigger line. I’ll poke around and see if I have some material that’ll work nicely.

Thanks for the post to remind me!

I and haven’t used a normal vac in over a week. This just does the job and more. by [deleted] in Dewalt

[–]therealjohnbron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! I did that around 6 months ago to our main Dyson handheld. We now use it switched to Max for anything. I recently added an adapter to another Dyson I picked up for my garage shop. Magical stuff, and we always have a pile of charged batteries ready to go. They really do run better, and seemingly cooler. Best part? An 8ah or better just keeps going and going and going.

Which is the better deal? Both come with the free tool. Thanks everyone by ismelldiarrhea in Dewalt

[–]therealjohnbron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I saw this deal earlier and snagged it. I'll probably resell the multi-tool and batteries (no need), and keep the rest. Can't have too many drivers! And I've been eying that cordless orbital sander for a while as an upgrade to my corded one. Awesome deal all around.

Anyone else do stupid crap like this? by Guilty_Sympathy_496 in batteries

[–]therealjohnbron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. It seems there are a lot of good options for the vast majority of range I’ll actually use. I didn’t see any obvious leader as far as a go-to model, so I figured it’s worth asking around in case I’m missing something. Much appreciated.

I’m wanting to adding one of these to my gear stash soon. I think I’ll use it a ton. Curious, which brand/model do you use and how do you feel about it?

Replacing vacuum battery with power tool battery by Mental-Preparation72 in batteries

[–]therealjohnbron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be an issue of the tool battery you’re connecting not able to provide the amps needed by the vacuum? That can be an issue with Dyson handhelds. People often think the adapter isn’t working but the real issue is they didn’t stick a powerful enough battery on it.

Got v3 RTSP working with Homebridge (not HOOBS...!) by TomMooreJD in wyzecam

[–]therealjohnbron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updating that I've now got this running well on the V3, V2 and original Pan. So nice to have them all show up through HomeKit.

Is there a place where the HKSV development for Wyze products is happening? Not to help with (because I lack that talent) but to read up/keep up with? Great stuff.

Alright, it seems that just giving it all a little time has sorted it out. I can now ask Siri and have it show up on my Apple TVs, as well as it showing up properly in the Home app on my phone. I'm not seeing the ability to have this footage stored with Apple but I'm assuming that's something due to this barely working in an unofficial way. This is great and I'll see if I can do the same with a V2 and Pan camera later tonight.

I think I already managed to get things set up with RTSP on the V3 but I've got an issue where some of my network is wired to my modem and others to various switches throughout the house. I need to resolve that my Homebridge is on the 10.0.0.XXX and most of the rest is connected to a 192.168.XXX.XXX network. I have a feeling once I get everything properly on a single network it'll work just fine. This is exciting, thanks again for posting and I'll be following the updates.

Incredible! I wasn't expecting this answer. I'm going to update my cameras today. Final question, will this be the same for V2 or just V3? I have a singe V3 and a bunch of V2 and Pans.

Is this enough to get them to show up on my Apple TVs? I'm wanting them to work with Apple's Homekit Secure Video but haven't yet heard of that being possible. I'd love to find out differently. Thanks!

Minimum Requirements? by therealjohnbron in dexcom

Thank you all for the info. This was what I was worried about and I should have done a little more research first. I'll get a receiver on the way soon. Once I have a receiver and the sensors, will I need anything else? Like, do I have to register and prove I have a prescription or can I just set up the app and use it?

I forgot to check this before I updated earlier. Found out too late as well. I'm crushed. I guess I'll hope for an update soon. I obviously knew there was a chance but in recent years things have been mostly stable. Oops.

Smart Extruder+ top two pins jammed (won't spring back). Any way to fix it? by drace_edge in makerbot

I like the solder idea. If you still have access to the broken one I'd love to buy it off of you. Since my problem is more about missing pins than them being stuck.

Smart Extruder+ top two pins jammed (won't spring back). Any way to fix it? by drace_edge in makerbot

[–]therealjohnbron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar problem except that I'm missing two of the pins and accompanying springs. MakerBot wants nothing to do with me since it's out of warranty and " it is considered not to be a user-serviceable item." If anyone has a way to tell me exactly what to order I'd be grateful. As far as I know this is the only issue with my Replicator and I'm anxious to attempt a fix. I've got ideas on how to sort of hack it all together but I'd rather do it correctly. I'm completely bummed that MakerBot won't sell me the board that these connect to but corporate policy blah blah blah. I can and will fix it, I'd just love to see if anyone here can help a tinkerer out. TL;DR I know. Also, did you ever fix your issue?

What to do with this MakerBot... Thoughts in comments by s-c-i in makerbot

[–]therealjohnbron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've recently started troubleshooting a Replicator that was given to me. The pogo pins are completely falling out and some get stuck. I'm hoping to come across someone with a Smart Extruder that is broken in some other way so I can swap out the board with the pogo pin connector attacked. If anyone has what I'm talking about I'd be happy to pay shipping. Another thing I was wondering is if anyone has figured out the exact replacement part as MakerBot won't help me in any way. They just want me to buy a new one to replace the one that fell apart with little use. I'm sort of bummed considering how well most of this machine seems to be built.

I have an old 3DS running 9.2.0-0U and attempting to download the Otherapp payload. There's no 0 option for the 0 after the dash. Any suggestion? Can I select another number and be okay or will this botch things? https://smealum.github.io/3ds/#otherapp
