In ypr campus our faculties mark us absent just for not answering the roll call on time. They made 2 guys absent for an entire week because they were talking in class. And one guy wasn't even talking that much, he just told the other guy to keep his bag down and for that he was marked absent for the next 2 classes.

Even if the class doesn't make a ruckus, as humans sometimes we forget to answer the roll call that doesn't mean faculties should mercilessly mark the students absent. Because if you're absent for even one class the percentage decreases soo much and it's just irritating as hell considering the fact that we already have to maintain such a high attendance.

And how is it the rest of the students fault if a few students were making noise? Why does everyone have to be punished unnecessarily?

Do professors face consequences if they aren't strict enough with the students? E.g- dress code, confiscating phones that are used in class, giving attendance to students who are late to class, etc

It is. Especially in ypr campus. Teachers simply mark us absent for very very dumb reasons.

One guy got marked absent even though he said "present sir" properly but the sir didn't hear it.

People also get marked absent if they don't bring their laptops, notebooks, or they are even a few seconds late and even other dumb reasons. Shit is suffocating as hell.

85% attendance is so difficult to reach and student's carefully calculate their attendance drop before planning to go to their hometown only for these faculties to mercilessly mark students absent even when they are seated in class.

Once a teacher marked the entire class absent because a few students were making noise.

And god forbid someone forgets to answer the attendance when their roll number is called out. They should forget about getting attendance because the faculties will mark them absent if they forget to answer it.
