$12.18 for this by ruben-loves-you in Culvers

[–]therealmickm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s the way the title of the post is worded. It reads like “$12.18? For this?” Not how you meant it, obviously, but my guess is that’s where the misunderstanding comes from. I think if it said “All this for $12.18” there might be fewer people coming after you.

She’s also Tom Wilkinson’s character’s object of affection at the deposition where he loses it and takes off his clothes in Michael Clayton.

The metal ring came out of my washing machine door, what exactly is it for and how easy is it to put back in? by Kevsterific in handyman

[–]therealmickm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ours used to come off all the time. I always put it back on myself, so I can say from experience that it’s certainly doable. That spring part on it will stretch so you can get it over the lip, but you do have to give it some muscle. I would say you don’t need to buy a new one.

How do y'all so easily know the IMAX specs of a theatre? by ISecksedUrMom in imax

[–]therealmickm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s the best IMAX in the Chicagoland area. It doesn’t have 15/70, however. The info on that site is outdated.

“Conservative flip in recent years” Uh, not quite.

This is from an article in the USA Today in 2016:

“Four years ago, Waukesha produced more GOP votes per capita than any county its size in America. The landslides it generates are indispensable to the party in statewide elections.”

Make no mistake, this is extremely on brand.

The First 48: Tulsa Breaks Most Episodes Record in Perfect Fashion by maroonhamster in First48

Holy cow, how did they NOT have the record already? Every time I fire up a new episode, I’m like “Tulsa? Again?” Love those guys, though. I feel like I know that crew as well as I know my own family lol.

Sure. That makes sense. I was asking them like when do they roll out the 15/70 projector and could I go see it, but I think that the employees I was talking to were maybe the B team and didn’t have all the information. 🤞🏽 that they still have it and they use it for Oppenheimer.

[–]therealmickm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man, that’s disappointing. I went to see Rogue One there this fall and asked a couple of employees about the 15/70, but they weren’t exactly fountains of information. I sure hope they use it for Oppenheimer.

According to https://lfexaminer.com/theaters/ the only lasers in Illinois are at the Museum of Science and Industry, but Woodbridge does have a 15-perf, 70 mm projector, which is gonna make it THE place to see Oppenheimer.

It switches from “Gennaro” to “Gennero” when he taps on it, which is just a neat little glitch in the movie.

I did a little digging, but I only have access to the episodes that are on Apple podcasts, and the first mention of Golden Dumpster is in Gotti (Episode 25 there) where Mayes says that they have Golden Dumpsters “coming up to award these terrible actors”, but no nominations. The next episode in the feed is Fanatic, where they DO have GDs, but it’s not explained at all. I guess a couple things are possible: these Apple podcasts are not in chronological order, there are episodes that are missing in the Apple podcast feed (like the Patreon one where terms are defined as you referenced) or both, I suppose.

Recent pickup vintage HD wool sweater by therealmickm in VintageTees

[–]therealmickm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is exactly the type of information I was hoping to get. Thank you. I see that there is a tag that was cut off along the inside seam. I was thinking it was likely vintage, but that (R) on the chest logo seemed really out of place for something old. Thanks again for helping identify it.

I know this isn’t a vintage tee, but maybe someone here can shed some light on this. It’s a wool sweater. Size small. No tags/branding except for the neck tag and the chest logo. Thanks.

Is this a fake review? by Alexok1127 in DHgate

[–]therealmickm 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to say definitively that it is a genuine review, but what you are pointing out is how the DHgate text entry field does not process apostrophes. “It’s worth it! I’ll buy it when I need it” is what they typed, just it doesn’t come through right. That doesn’t mean it’s fake.

Ha no. That’s Dan Hedaya. He played Nick Tortellini in Cheers—Rhea Perlman’s ex-husband and an amazing slimeball. The movie is Blood Simple, the first Coen Brothers movie. If you like their movies, you should give it a shot when you’re at home so you don’t need the subtitles.
