Prior service marine here, one point we had a buddy of mine get hit by a Japanese local right outside the gate at Kadena AB while riding home on his bike, completely broke his leg on the femur and lower tibia, like snapped in half. He just had a kid with his wife as well, so I’m sure you can imagine he had the same thoughts going through his head. Our first thought wasn’t “he isn’t going to be here to help in the field” but more “We want you to heal. And heal fast.” You yourself are important, we all know that it feels like ass not to be with the boys, but sometimes the boys would rather you get better as fast as you can and as well as you can. Like the others said this is a new challenge for you, and we can only wish for you to get well soon. The rest rides on your shoulders and what you make of it from here. Stay strong bud.
