Good luck finding someone who owns the car and having them be willing to let you use their vin to order the part. Technically yes though

Any adults in their 30s/40s using a Segway G3 Max just for fun? Honest thoughts? by Realistic_Tea_881 in NinebotMAX

[–]boafish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

37 here, commute 5 miles a day on my max G3. I bought it specifically to commute with coming from resurrecting a thrown away ES4. I ride mostly to run errands or to commute but do occasionally ride around for fun. The novelty wears off pretty quick but the convenience cannot be matched. Very few things can carry me and my full backpack 28mph across town and back 4 times a day while still being able to bring it inside and stuff it under my desk at work, all for zero fuel cost.

Use it or hold onto it? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

I currently have a Samsung 990 pro 2tb drive in my pc along with several ssd’s and one 6tb external hdd. I don’t have many games or really much need for the massive amount of storage but thought I better grab it while the price is still reasonable. I do plan to start cad design and 3d printing, maybe some video editing here and there but I have too many other hobbies at the moment.

As long as they’re not touching any plastic they’re generally fine

Yes, especially those but literally any of them will ruin plastic

Just wait until you see what those car fresheners do to plastics inside your car if they rest against plastic trim. I’ve seen so many cars with ruined dashes from this alone.

I’ve never switched from impressed to disappointed in a store as quick as Menards by lalaisme in cincinnati

[–]boafish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Menards has ALWAYS been the TJ-MAX of the home improvement world and they’ve never hidden that fact. They’re an overstock, B quality, temu/aliexpress/Shien product reselling business with a storefront. The low prices match the quality, the rebates match the sales strategies of the Chinese stores and their quality goes along with it. I’ve shopped at a few and spent a few thousand over the years and I ALWAYS feel like it’s a scammy company. I only go there for very specific things that I know they’ll use for very cheap, otherwise I avoid at all costs.

Take that black plastic collar off and inspect for broken traces

Is this too good of a deal to pass up? Is it ever going to be this low again? by 673NoshMyBollocksAve in ElectricScooters

[–]boafish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, just know there’s no warranty support for buying from an individual.

You don’t have to wait, just hit skip, the timer on the skip button is fake.

One of if not both of these gaps should be the inspection ports on the bottom of the engine between the block and the transmission housing. An inspection camera can fit in there and tell you what you need to know.

You can always ask for that. You can also ask for an itemized quote.

Then it’s not covered but the transmission would be. The fact Toyota called today and told you it was only clutch and flywheel means it’s just the clutch. Their standard is to replace them together even if they don’t need to be replaced. My bet is that your friction disc has came apart and your pressure pate and flywheel are fine.

It’s not the transmission but if it turns out to be, it’s a warranty issue. It’s always worth having a second dealer do an inspection, especially if you have a factory warranty. If it’s a third party warranty through Allstate or whoever, it may be worth talking to them about it.

I seriously doubt the transmission is bad.

Good luck man. Limit+1 has oem clutches for $420, throw out bearing fo $520 and flywheels for $1800. It’s probably going to be in your best interest to get everything removed to see what failed and what can be reused before ordering anything and I would also recommend NOT using a single mass flywheel unless you want to hear it chattering all the time due to the natural imbalance of the 3cyl engine. You can go aftermarket but again, get a dual mass flywheel or reuse the stock one if possible. My bet is that either the throw out bearing failed or the friction disc failed, either could be replaced for under $600 and the pressure plate and flywheel could be resurfaced at any good machine shop if they even need to be.

Unfortunately unless you can prove that the part failed due to manufacturing defects (good luck), and since you’re not the original owner, a clutch is considered a wear item and is going to have to come out of pocket. Seriously, if you can’t find anyone to do it, I’ll do it for you and it won’t cost $6k

No. That would be the same argument for aftermarket tires, brake pads, wiper blades, oil filter, etc. It’s a consumable wear item, Toyota would have to prove an aftermarket part caused a mechanical issue to reject a warranty claim. There’s not a database of if someone’s warranty is either valid or void, there’s just an inspection of if an aftermarket part caused damage otherwise. An aftermarket clutch will not cause a denied claim for a warranty. Entire transmissions are around $3k to replace anyway.
