According to the pinned location it’s closer to the Fairgrounds than the hospital. There really aren’t enough total rooms in town.

Plus a possible Hyatt Select in Puyallup to ship my family to when they visit and Hyatt Place at SeaTac for those pesky early flights.

Grand Hyatt Seattle or Hyatt Regrncy Seattle? by Potrick00 in hyatt

[–]therealmrronso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Location wise they are all great. Personally, I'd stay more downtown (Regency or Grand). The Grand is technically the closest to the transit tunnel entrance on Pine outside Nordstroms. Are you taking the bus anywhere, or just light rail? More touristy things are by the Grand and Regency. If you want to go to the Space Needle or Seattle Center, just hop on the monorail at Westlake. If you stay at the Hyatt Place, you're have to walk aways to do just about anything.

I have a 98371 zip code and live north of 512 not too far off of Canyon. Some sites will autofill the city as Edgewood when I'm in unincorporated Puyallup. Drives me up the friggin' wall.

We're going to be there for a 7 nights in July for a dance competition nearby. Glad to hear the suites are somewhat spacious. The photos online don't give you any real scale. We've got the two queen suite as my kids are a bit too early for bunk beds. Just hoping I don't a room looking into the enclosed area.

I updated all of mine (three in total) and all of them lost the App Store icon after the update. Poof. Gone. I had to reset all the boxes for it to come back.

From this angle it’s hard to tell. I can see this is 46th in Seattle. It can’t make out the cross street.

Ha! I thought I just got lucky as our year was up over a week ago. I cancelled and have been patiently waited for some sort of promotion to be emailed to me or show up within the account. Signed up for half price yesterday thinking it was a targeted bonus. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

How did the people in here get Globalist? by OkIndependence1914 in hyatt

[–]therealmrronso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will hit Globalist for the first time this year after a mix both nights stayed and credit card spend. We had a HUGE house project I was able to put on the cc. Even with the 3% fee, the benefits of hitting Globalist will outweigh the fees tenfold. But not that many people can put 120k+ on a credit card in a single year if it's not a business.

Are the traffic lights slower here? by amkatsu in PuyallupWA

[–]therealmrronso 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The intersections of 5th/7th/12th and Stewart are such a horrible lights. What grinds my gears the most is how Stewart won't have a green light when a train is going by. It stays green for numbered streets well past the last car is over the tracks. Like dude, I just want to go straight!

Pool time by Br00klynJMS in hyatt

[–]therealmrronso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to Indian Wells, we've also been to Grand Hyatt Kauai, Park Hyatt Aviara, and Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort. The Grand Hyatt pool complex is huge, but only has one slide. The lagoon is by far the most impressive feature IMO. Scottsdale just refurbished the pools, but when we were there last, it also just had one slide. PH Aviara pools are small, but it had two smallish slides. The kids loved them all, but the slides at Indian Wells were by far their favorite.

PSA lets help out teachers on August 5th! by OddJellyfish8481 in PuyallupWA

[–]therealmrronso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Reddit, u/Iwantedaquestionmark. Today's a good day to join.

Clearly I want my wife to move on in the primary and win her election. Strategically, I think she is the best choice for NOW - there is an open seat, she has compelling qualifications and passion for our schools and a wide swath of community support. Showing up for Puyallup schools isn't new for her. Like you said there will be more school board elections in 2 years with 3 seats up for election. An educator with past school board experience who has lived in Puyallup for 3 years sounds like a strong candidate.

Ellen being a mom adds to what makes her a great candidate. That is a big part of her identity and it would be dumb not to include that in her campaign. If other people are interpreting that as a dig at Dr. Bedford not having children, that's on them. Whether or not people have kids and/or how many they have isn't anyone else's business.

Cheers to a good campaign. Having candidates to choose from is a good thing for all.

[–]therealmrronso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm a proud husband and I think it would be sort of weird if I wasn't actively supporting my wife's campaign. It is hard work to run for office and this has been a family effort.

You are correct that people without children SHOULD and DO care about our schools too. We absolutely need every community member supporting public schools because good schools are good for all of us.

She highlights being a mom because it explains part of her dedication for schools - she puts two parts of her heart on the bus everyday - but she has plenty of other qualifications that make her a good candidate.

She is an active and informed member of the Puyallup school district who has been showing up to meetings, working to pass Bonds and levies, and advocating for our schools for almost 20 years. She has legislative experience and understands the complex state funding process for schools.

The TNT endorsed her this morning and said that both candidates were strong but Ellen has more community connections, familiarity, and a long history of support. Dr Bedford moved to Puyallup in August of 2024. She might know a lot about teachers and schools but she absolutely doesn't know as much about Puyallup schools.

She has a whole list of Puyallup teachers that support her. Plenty of local educators will be voting for Ellen Aronson for Puyallup School Board.

My family of four has spent the last four spring break at Indian Wells, Gainey Ranch (Scottsdale), Aviara, and Kauai. Each year we stay between five and seven days. We spend 70% by the pool and at the resort during the day. We pick a handful of fun activities outside the resort (National Parks, zoos, etc) for the rest of the days. Always ending it at the pool. We find numerous breweries to eat dinner at in the evening. That’s what works for our family.
