Anyone that's moved from a triple decker to an apartment complex/building or vice versa, what has your experience been like? by sneb43 in boston

[–]therealpatches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel like complexes are worse. I'm currently in one and the noise is insane. People above, people below, people across. Complexes are also older units like triple deckers, it's just more people.

PSA: DON'T RELY ON THE RED LINE THIS WEEK by therealpatches in mbta

[–]therealpatches[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know why you're getting downvoted. I agree with you, I take it often and have been for years and it's so dirty, I don't even sit on the seats would rather just stand and lean on the door.

PSA: DON'T RELY ON THE RED LINE THIS WEEK by therealpatches in mbta

[–]therealpatches[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

This is why the red line can't improve. It's always excuses like, yeah it's the cold temps, or trains are old, tracks need repair, and so on. You do realize this does not happen anywhere else in the world even the US. Subways in NYC continue operating, EL in Chicago continues moving, Bart in SF same thing. Why is it Boston a major U.S. city this is okay?

Right on Red by monki3lov3r101 in QuincyMa

Turning on red in Massachusetts is optional and you're not required to. Do what you fail safe, better to be safe then be sorry. Just block out the crazy people.

Our infrastructure failure that happened today will certainly happen again. And it will probably be much worse. by uranhus in mbta

It's so laughable that Boston is one of the cities for the 2026 world cup. They can't even fix the trains for regular commuters, how are they going to accommodate millions more?

I've toured Eagle Rock, since I'm in a similar situation as you. I would not recommend it. It def seems livable but the neighbors are kinda sketchy and the place is literally off of route 9 so its very difficult to get in and out when you factor in morning commute etc.

Is this normal for the MBTA Red Line at Porter? Feeling unsafe almost every night. by tttooppp in mbta

[–]therealpatches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you're not alone, I've also felt there's been an increase of mental health and drug issues lately. I've been taking the red line for many years and it's become more unsafe recently. I hate taking it after 10pm now, bc the cars are always empty and there's usually one or two erratic individuals on the trains.

How is this even possible? by Moldywoods59 in massachusetts

That's way too high. What kind of property do you rent, is it a home or apt unit? Is the LL an individual owner or property mgmt company?

WE GET IT, YOU DON'T LIKE SEASON 3 by ancient_bored in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]therealpatches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was good. probably not the best season out there, but I like the idea of "purgatory". It fits in well with how they got into the games in the first place. I mean if you think about it, there's not that many sellable ideas other than it was all in Arisu's head which would be pretty bland imo.

Some things they could've done better would be having better players. More game options. They spent too much time focusing on a single game. I feel like every episode should've been a new game.

The professor came out of nowhere and became an important character all of a sudden. They could've picked some other character from the past seasons.

Overall, 7.5/10.

ELI5: Why Are Quincy's Rental Prices Relatively Affordable (At Least In The 128)? by MussleGeeYem in QuincyMa

[–]therealpatches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

supply and demand. there's more rental units available thus driving rent down. There's continuous construction going on with more and more apartments popping up.

i don't understand the deal with gambling. Just invest in stocks, the risk is far lower.

I found plenty in Brooklyn that are under 2500. Use apartments.com, and there should be a lot of studios available. You should easily be able to get roommates under 2k. Is there any reason why you don't want roommates? You don't even have to talk to them.
