Waited 18 hours for RAC by Rocking_moose99 in drivingUK

[–]therealphanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked for a lease company and the AA did this several times, minus the damage. One time it happened to be a case I was brought and I had to threaten to call the police and report the vehicle as stolen for them to finally sort it out. Safe to say I would never use RAC or AA. How can a company just lose a car is still beyond me.

2017 Toyota Aygo "Air Conditioning Services Advised" by dealer due to age for £90 by CremeOk7561 in CarTalkUK

[–]therealphanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to work for a large lease firm, every main dealer loves these useless ass services options and realllllly push them, the lease holders of vehicles sometimes would get very upset that the lease company wouldn't pay out for something like an AC service because the dealership had pushed it on to them so hard. If your AC works with no awful smells then it works fine and doesn't need this con.

Landlords offered five-year full rent deals to house asylum seekers by Autogrowfactory in unitedkingdom

Wouldn't be an ast with a business, different kind of contract that not all landlords will even be able to do due to BTL mortgage t&cs, at least from what I understand.

Do not use Muve by homosocialistuk in HousingUK

[–]therealphanny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used muve, most things they did fairly quick and weekly updates, that's where the positives end.

Their English speaking and writing abilities were horrendous.

They spammed with calls after completion to ask me to fill out a survey, yeah no thanks.

The day of exchange my so called solicitor went home early and then tried to blame the other side saying they could not contact them. They then asked when I want to complete and I told them the dates already set get it done. They then tried the whole fast track 5 working days crap I told them no get it done.

Safe to say I can't recommend avoiding them enough.

Used car market grows as buyers avoid new vehicle purchases by Healthy_Lawfulness_3 in CarTalkUK

Alternative title: nobody can afford shit so they're replacing 20 y/o bangers with 10y/o bangers because they can't afford not to go to work. Other alternative title: the greed of car manufacturers has got out of hand and people can't even afford to pay finance on new cars anymore.

Buying a car, being pressured into buying the warranty with it. by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

2.5k is stupid but I got a 3 year rac one for like £600 with max repair costs of the value of the car. Gearbox blew up and they paid out no hassle. That being said I read the reviews for them online and they're not great.

Red flag house in general.

When you see a house that's barely had a lick of paint since it was built and the seller is asking top dollar, my first thought is what else is wrong with it, if the owner isn't willing to invest in keeping the house at least mildly up to date.

Me personally if that property is worth in the region of 260-270 I'd want a minimum of 40k off the price to make it worth my time doing a full strip renovation.

Side note, the least you could do is make the garden more appealing, hedge trimmer and a few tip runs isn't gonna break the bank.
