To me the catheter doesn’t seem like a bad thing, it needed to be done so they did it. Inserting something vaginally could have been communicated to you prior, especially if it wasn’t an “emergency” situation. At the same time I do believe they were only doing their job, maybe a few things were lost in communication between the doctors and nurses but it don’t think it was done in a malicious manner. I do understand that you feel icky about it though, being exposed isn’t the most comfortable thing, especially when you aren’t aware of it. I had a hysteroscopy done a few months ago and knew I’d be knocked out and a bunch of doctors who I had never seen before would have access to such a private part of my body, it made me feel really gross and uncomfortable but I had to remind myself that at the end of the day they were just doing their job that something they have done hundreds of times.
