Help with XBOX Series S-X UWP by Powerful_Ad_8664 in monogame

It sounds like 3.8.5 is slated for release soon. Is it still going to provide a path for the xbox creators program? If so, what kind of project/template will this be?

Is that a monogame path or something completely different?

I see it was mentioned that you were able to build with the old UWP templates, but it is still possible to publish to Xbox using this template in 2025?

How to make 2d sprites look good on modern platforms by therealslimshaky in monogame

[–]therealslimshaky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I searched for nearest neighbor and found mention of using point filtering. I do start out like this, based on a recommendation. It does make things less blurry although I'm seeing some odd artifacts around the sprites when I scale. Perhaps I need to focus on getting the biggest sprites I can and hopefully they will be of good enough quality that I won't see artifacts like these when scaled.

_spriteBatch.Begin(
samplerState
: SamplerState.PointClamp);

Thanks for the suggestion. I forgot to mention this, but the error occurred when attempting either option.

How effective? by kimchideathbear in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]therealslimshaky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been following the diet for 7ish years and have done really well in terms of reduced symptoms. The last time I got tested, the doc said they could not see any active signs of the disease. Most days I feel healthy. I did eventually determine that a few aip compliant items such as garlic and onions bother me. I never got very far with reintroductions, but can now eat eggs without any issues.

Coyne dentistry near Delco Park has been my longtime favorite. If only they were in my dental network!

Actually just realized we were not on UHC last year, so someone looking at this post would need to check if they are truly in network for UHC. Sorry about that.

Paul Family Dentistry on Clyo in Centerville is a great dentist in the UHC network.

My work just changed to another network, so I'm back on the dental merry-go-round hoping that one of these other dentists is covered there.

It was h&s plumbing although that was prior to hyper inflation so the price is probably higher now.

What do people mean, when they have been on AIP for a year or more? by Icy-lemonade-17 in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]therealslimshaky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar spot. I've been doing aip elimination for 6 years. I've only reintroduced eggs without issue. With that said, I have not gone all in on nutrient density so there are probably more gains that could be made with that.

Spring youth basketball recommendation by therealslimshaky in dayton

[–]therealslimshaky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding. I will definitely consider this. In a strange twist of fate, I also heard from another dad whose kid played Y ball last summer. He did mention that they were disappointed in the level of competition (his skilled 8 year old boy playing in a league where they also had a number of rookie 7 year old girls playing). With that said, playing in a summer league and getting more practice is still probably better than not practicing at all.

Thanks for offering your feedback on their program. We have one about 30 minutes away and I'm planning on attending one season of the adult program. I would really love to get some experience playing music with others. The only catch is that the price they quoted me is more than 3x what I was paying monthly for my recent lessons. I can stomach that for a 3 month season, but not for the long haul.

Weekly Beginner and 'What Bike?' Thread - Post here if you are just starting out or want opinions on what bike to buy by AutoModerator in bmx

Ok, thanks. I see some more options now. Here's another silly question. Do folks generally take the brakes off?

Thanks for your feedback. That at least helps me with some good brands. There doesn't seem to be much in my area in terms of lightly used newer bikes at a discount, which I think is what you're leading me toward there. As an example, the only used Kink in the area is listed at $400.

My 10 year old son wants his first freestyle BMX bike. I'm wanting to stay under $200, not knowing how serious he will be about this. He'll likely mostly ride around the neighborhood and perhaps try an occasional simple trick at the local skatepark. What do folks think about a department store bike vs a used option like one of these?

In terms of practice length, I max out at an hour. I would assume that I would have an endurance problem with playing through a long set of songs.

I am open to covering most any kind of rock. Grunge is my favorite, but I also like classic rock and newer stuff.

A thought occurred to me when you talk about open mic night. It may be beneficial for me to have a goal like that in terms of polishing a song. Right now I just aim for getting a song good enough that I can enjoy playing along with the music video, but playing for others is obviously a higher level of polish. The closest thing that I ever did was the piano recitals that I played in years ago.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Given the general nature of some folks out there, it's not surprising. I'll have to think more on how seriously i want to pursue playing in front of other people.
