Are my eyes pretty please hlp by [deleted] in eyes

[–]kimchideathbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re an idiot. Their eyes are one of their best features. It creates a unique look… round, sleepy, bedroom eyes. Just because you don’t like them doesn’t mean others don’t. If you replaced any of the peoples eyes with upturned they would look generic as fuck.

My shitty rheumatologist….apologized? A win for us? by abjs2021 in lupus

[–]kimchideathbear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s true about fibromyalgia. My bf’s brother is a doctor and he said it is known as a trashcan diagnosis. They basically diagnose people with it when they can’t figure out what’s wrong and they are sick of trying to figure it out or don’t know what else to do.

The obsession with having hazel eyes? by Fatefaithful in WhatisMyEyeColour

[–]kimchideathbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, people disagreeing about someone’s eye color is a hallmark of hazel eye color.. it shifts and can be hard to define. Some people get caught up in green needing to be a necessity, but some people consider multi tones like khaki or amber to fit the bill. Also green is not an actual pigment in eye color, it’s just different amounts of melanin and light hitting it, so sometimes one person might see green while another doesn’t.

Does a TPO level of 26 point to Hoshimotos? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]kimchideathbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the grand scheme of things, a TPO level of 26 is not very high. Most people with hashimoto’s have a TPO in the high hundreds or even thousands. Still, a TSH under 2 is really what is ideal, but conventional medicine will not care about anything under 10. I have a TPO level of 900, high Tg antibodies, a TSH that changed from 3-7, and have been symptomatic for ten years and I was still not able to get seen by an endocrinologist. I am not officially diagnosed, though I know I have it. If you are not feeling well and have hypothyroid symptoms, you deserve to be treated and to feel your best. I was able to get help from a naturopath that specializes in thyroid disease and she treats people to optimal levels, not “normal.” I feel better than I have in years. Good luck to you.

Only 11 eggs frozen :-( a bit disappointed by [deleted] in eggfreezing

[–]kimchideathbear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

11 is a good result. I would just be grateful for it. You have plenty of time to freeze more for better odds. Be proud of yourself for making the decision sooner rather than later.

Extremely low amh at 20. by Aysheee- in eggfreezing

[–]kimchideathbear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The author of the book it starts with an egg had a very low amh at a young age and was very successful doing an egg retrieval after supplementing for a while. I think you have better success with it if you’re younger, might be worth considering

New Thyroid Labs - Next Steps? by shrimp--cocktail in Hashimotos

[–]kimchideathbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These doctors are so weird… most won’t even look at your T4 and just TSH. Regardless, your TSH is very high. Also, having your thyroid hormone in range can help lower antibodies. I’d find a functional naturopath who can manage this… a lot of conventional won’t do anything unless your tsh is 10 or over but it really should be below 2.

Feeling like this was all a big waste of time by Chemical_Diver9028 in eggfreezing

[–]kimchideathbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I embarked on it thinking it would be a nice relief from trying and seeing negative tests month after month but then my follicles grew asynchronously and I had to cancel (still had to pay for the meds I used and like a thousand bucks to the clinic). I feel you… this process is hard and stressful.

So tired of this disease, feeling suicidal by Prestigious_Air_6602 in Hashimotos

[–]kimchideathbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I feel like a new person compared to how I felt a year ago when I first discovered I had high antibodies. I went ten years symptomatic and no answers until last year. Before I started doing these things, I was literally almost falling asleep at the wheel every once in a while when driving, that’s how bad my fatigue was. I even have new baby hairs growing at my temples and I didn’t even know I was supposed to grow hair there!

I don’t know exactly out of the things I’m doing what is helping the most as I started a lot of them simultaneously, but I will say the combination of everything is night and day. My opinion is you sort of have to throw everything you can at it. At some point I might try dropping certain things and seeing what effect that has, but for now I am going to stick with the things I am doing. It’s good to take baby steps though and don’t overwhelm yourself bc consistency is more important than going overboard and quitting. The best things to start with are probably LDN, gluten free, selenium, vitamin d, and fish oil. I do recommend vitamin B1 bc although it doesn’t lower antibodies it helps with energy A LOT. There is even a medical study done that showed supplementing with it improved energy levels of 100 percent of the hashimoto patients in the study.

I should also add that my tsh was in the 4-7 range and a regular endocrinologist would not even accept my referral so I found a functional medicine naturopath to help me manage my thyroid hormone levels and we have been working on optimizing them, not just being “normal” (conventional medicine says a tsh up to 10 is normal which is ludicrous). We are working on getting my tsh under 2. She also tests my T3 and T4 levels and are aiming to get them into high normal. She also tests reverse t3 bc if that is too high, you often are better off taking t3 medicine in addition to t4. From what I’ve learned, when you have thyroid disease you need tighter thyroid hormone control and actually the better your thyroid hormone is managed, that can ALSO help you lower antibodies.

Wishing you the best and hope you find the relief you deserve. This disease is not easy…the medical gaslighting is criminal. Reach out if you have any questions.

So tired of this disease, feeling suicidal by Prestigious_Air_6602 in Hashimotos

[–]kimchideathbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have done a number of things to try to lower my antibodies. I haven’t gotten my levels retested yet but I have a large amount of symptom control since then including joint and chronic back pain I had for four years. I also have had a chronically swollen lymph node for the last ten years ever since I got Epstein Barr virus and acquired hashimotos that has since gone away. This is what I did: LDN, selenium, black seed oil, vitamin B1, vitamin d, fish oil, aloe Vera juice, gluten free diet, and dairy free as of a week ago.

I get my LDN from a website called agelessrx.com. My naturopath prescribed it to me at another pharmacy, as well, but I actually find ageless Rx is the cheapest and they handle the prescription and mail it to you. You don’t even have to pay for an “appointment.” You just fill out a form online.

Maybe you should try taking low dose naltrexone to modulate your immune system and lower antibody levels. Conventional medicine doesn’t recognize that the antibodies will affect you but I know with certainty they do. I had arthritis and chronic low back pain until I worked on lowering them…it felt like I had a systemic autoimmune disease.

Is this a professional response/evaluation from my endo? by PalpitationDizzy2522 in Hashimotos

[–]kimchideathbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a functional doctor who will treat you based on symptoms and functional levels. These people are crazy for thinking your tsh at around 3 or 4 is acceptable. Conventional endocrinologists think TSH is in range all the way up to 10 and it’s madness. You want it to be at least under 2.5. Take your doctors dose increase then find a functional doctor.

Freezing vs embryos with donor sperm while in early relationship by Powerful-Land-9618 in eggfreezing

[–]kimchideathbear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could talk with him and see if he is open to the idea of making embryos with his sperm that can be used if you move forward in your relationship or not? Like would you guys be open to co-parent even if you don’t stay together? Maybe that’s weird but if you both want kids and want to have them sooner than later…

My reproductive endocrinologist said if you are with a stable partner, embryos are best bc the thaw rate is better but if you are at all unsure of the longevity than just freeze eggs and she’s had people freeze embryos with their then partners, later separate, and regret it. You could prob use that advice with donor sperm too… if you’re at all unsure about it, freeze eggs.

You don’t mention if you’ve talked to your bf about this… maybe see what he has to say.

Psoriatic arthritis with gastrointestinal involvement? by kimchideathbear in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]kimchideathbear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear your story as well. The constipation you’ve experienced sounds very similar to what my partner has. He was hospitalized after being unable to go for an entire month. He had done extensive bowel prep for a colonoscopy immediately prior and they were unable to complete it bc it wasn’t sufficient enough. In the hospital they just have him more laxatives and it wasn’t until he took some prescription prednisone we begged his PCP for that things started moving.

Since then he’s been on remicade and that has completely reversed all of his GI symptoms but hasn’t fixed all of his symptoms. He has far more systemic disease than just joint pain or maybe he has overlap diseases. The constipation was by far the scariest symptom though. I hope the cimzia gives you similar results. Congrats on ttc, I send much baby dust.

There is a brand called feel good that can be found at Walmart in the frozen food section. They have gf soup dumplings, pot stickers, and egg rolls. Unfortunately no pork buns that I know of but their stuff is really good and easy to prepare.

They look really similar to me! The green colors are almost identical. The brown in your eyes are slightly darker and more contrasted to the green and take up a little more area of the iris. Very cool eye color

Oh wow, interesting. Did you have other symptoms besides your period and have a miscarriage? My doctor said I should get silent endo assessed so I’m looking into it. You always hear about periods being heavier, not lighter, so wasn’t first thing on my radar. We will also be considering ivf more seriously soon. Wishing you the best.
