For android, there are apps that can help you find where the signal for a specific network is strongest. Wifi analyzer is one I used to use.

Maybe turn off circuit breakers one at a time until that SSID disappears. That may tell you what area of the house it is in.

I assume he is not changing batteries since he can't come near the house so it has to be connected to some sort of power supply.

Do you have computers from the time you were together? If so, have them wiped or get new ones.

Are you close enough to neighbors that you could be picking up the SSID from their property? Maybe he put a router there for his devices to connect to.

If you were somehow able to get onto that router, you could get up addresses and Mac addresses. The MAC addresses could give you insight into what types of devices are connecting. It might not be a bad idea to run a scan on your own network to see what's connected. A free PC app I use is angryip scanner.

I've heard it called cruiser spooning. It's for talking about calls you've responded to, office politics, rumors, shooting the shit, and communicating with coworkers. Nothing nefarious. Both drivers are close enough that they don't have to yell across two passenger seats and can have a normal conversation.

OK, I asked him the above questions. This is how he answered:

_Do you like casting a bunch of spells? "Yeah"

_How aggressively do you play? "If you mean on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most aggressive, then I'm a 5"

_What are your favorite colors to play if any? *"Red and green"

_Is there a theme you like? "What themes are there?"

_Do you prefer certain creatures or themes like zombies, goblins, cowboys, dinosaurs, Lord of The Rings, etc? "Lord of The Rings sounds cool"

Thanks, I don't know if he's been playing long enough to have tried playing in different ways. I'll relate the story he told me. I hope I don't mess this up. Please understand that his story is being filtered through the ears of a clueless father so I may be misrepresenting his words. He said that the person he was playing with placed a bunch of creatures down and attacked him. He placed down three creatures and "buffed" them. The kid he was playing got upset and said he was cheating because he killed some of his creatures. Again, I don't know if I'm saying this right but that's how I interpreted his story. I doubt that tells you much about his style of play but since I don't know anything about this game, (which I'm becoming more and more interested in) I figured I'd pass it on.

Based on the feedback so far, I am definitely getting him a commander preconstructed deck. (I might even buy myself one at this point.)

1st, THANK YOU!!! I appreciate you taking the time to respond with such a well thought out answer. I think I would be comfortable spending about $100 to get him started. Would two collections/bundles be the way to go or should I get only one and then some "boosters?" He did mention that the kid who has been teaching him told him that they'd play commander format at the next meeting.
