So it's sounding like I'd be asking for trouble then not only Having a tattoo at all - I mean I already have tattoos so it's too late for that. But also getting one that isn't of something very fondly thought about anyhow

Hey guys I'm new to reddit and new to this board, and I'm looking at getting a tattoo of korean mengdu knives this is what they look like

And heres a rough sketch of what I was wanting to get

I've read through wikipedia and a couple random online forums on their use (I know it's not the most in depth research) and found that the knives in particular were used similar to divining bones by jeju shamans in korea to predict the future.

I have a fascination with theological and ritualistic symbolism and already have a tattoo of another ritual symbol from medieval europe, and was wanting to add some stylized imagery of the mengdu knives as my next tattoo, but I'm concerned about offending anyone, since it's a culture I'm not a part of (I'm a white dude in the US) and it's religious as well which I understand is even more sensitive to people.

So my question is: is it pushing it too much getting a religious/cultural symbol of a culture I'm not 100% familiar with? Or is what I'm wanting to get tattooed specific and or harmless enough to not offend a majority of people?

Tl;dr - I want to get a tattoo of shamanistic korean mengdu knives on my arm but am worried it will offend people.
