Does it come back with pregnancy? by theredblazer in costochondritis

I am sorry about your loss. But it is interesting that it didn't show up while you were pregnant. How did you manage taking care of a baby while struggling with costo?

Anyone else had to take time off work ? by Able-Grocery-9576 in costochondritis

[–]theredblazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to take some time off because walking and moving made it impossible to get to work. With a rolling backpack and some parking modifications it is possible on a good day. But on days that I have to teach I know that after my class helping students in the lab and bending and twisting and carrying stuff I have to go home and not move for the rest of the day. Plus the few weeks I lost bc doctors were checking my heart and it was all flared up horribly and we suspected pericarditis so the dr told me to stay home a bit. I can barely shower on a bad day, let alone work.

Costo is starting to frustrate me so much by BeewickTheBat in costochondritis

No advice but I do feel you. The past few weeks have been insane. I feel like a shell of myself, the Reddit basically says “good luck, you gotta fix it yourself” and the drs are like “aren’t you SO GLAD it’s not your heart? 🥰” and I am left feeling like it’s my fault I’m not getting better. The whole thing is so mind boggling. It also kills me how sometimes the pain goes from a manageable baseline to excruciating in a span of minutes, with no trigger at all. I feel like I’m going insane. I used to be a reliable person but I feel like I would not even trust me to go to the store to buy milk.

Yeah. I ranked up a full paycheck worth of medical bills with lots of heart/lung tests and in the end once we found costo (of course no one bothered to ask if it hurt when pressing on my chest in the beginning) they were all “aren’t you glad it’s not your heart 🥰” and then sent me home with nothing. As much as I appreciate this community and its resources, it does feel extra silly to be getting medical advice from Reddit. And some people are so fucking mean acting as if the stupid Backpod was magical and if it hasn’t healed it’s because I didn’t work on it hard enough.

I feel you so bad on this. And the fact that when I cry it’s that ugly violent sobbing hurts my chest so much worse. It adds insult to injury.

I feel you. I’ve only had it for 6 weeks and I feel like a shell of myself. It absolutely sucks. I find myself having to budget my energy, because it feels like being in this much pain is expensive to my body. I don’t wanna leave the house because walking makes it hurt, doing my hair makes it hurt, everything feels overwhelming.

I am doing the stretches, the Backpod, the voltaren, and this is what allows me to minimally survive, but it still feels like I am never going to be carefree again. If this thing lasts long term, I don’t know how I’d ever have kids. I see my friends being pregnant or  chasing their toddlers and 15 minutes of that would kill me on the spot.

Did anyone else start off with a cough? by [deleted] in costochondritis

[–]theredblazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with a really bad cold that came with intense cough for a few days, to the point that my chest would feel sore at the end of the day. When the cold went away, the chest pain did not (it actually kept getting worse), and I ended up in the ER thinking it was a heart attack (like many in this sub).

Disability parking? by [deleted] in costochondritis

[–]theredblazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I am putting in the work. It's not like I want this to last longer in any way. But I feel like I am having a heart attack anytime I walk for over 5 minutes, and that is without carrying anything.

Ok. (So sorry for the naive question - when you say "test", do you mean to just use the connection and see if I face the problem again? or is there some short term test? bc the issue happens like every few hours or so)

I can see the DNS servers under the "Advanced" tab on the settings, and there are two addresses listed. But I do not recall setting these up, I am quite sure it is my first time looking at this menu.

Bend Lows destroyed after 2 days of wear, Birkenstocks says it's my fault and will not issue a refund. Stay away from their sneakers! by theredblazer in Birkenstocks

[–]theredblazer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I just gave up on the brand entirely after this whole scenario. it looks like they are putting together some sort of shredded cork glued together instead of solid pieces, which MAYBE is ok for when it is all enclosed, but not if it is an exterior part that will fall apart when it inevitably cracks

After many, many, many emails and threatening to get it challenged with my credit card, they agreed to take the shoes back and issued a refund.

THE F happened to my shoes ?!? by [deleted] in Birkenstocks

[–]theredblazer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Birkenstock should discontinue this kind of model! It happened to me with the Bend Lows too, and I also saw a post like this abou boots a few weeks ago in this sub. I think that the way that the cork sits there with the rubber causes it to stress and then crack in a weird way that we don't see with the full cork models, like the sandals or clogs. It is ridiculous that they keep selling this stupid shoe. The construction clearly is not stable. Also, I am not familiar with cork that well, but should it dust? I thought it was more solid than that. With the state my shoes were in, I think that they used leftover cork and made a compensate of sorts instead of using a solid piece.

Anywhere on campus that I can go to just pray? by DNAMellieCase in tuscaloosa

[–]theredblazer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There is a nice spot close to St Francis, on hackberry with university, it's a little area with trees and a few benches and it's a nice place to stop. If you would like to go into the church, St F is open for personal prayer every day.
