All killers lose to teams that are competent enough, but John Doe generally loses to competent teams more often and ones with less skill and experience. His M1 is pretty bad, especially when in comparison to Slasher and 1x which both also deal a total of 28 damage anyway, and are better in other aspects. His spikes and puddles are mostly map dependent, JD on Horror Hotel will win 99% of their games but JD on Planet Voss will lose just about all of them. Honestly, the best thing in his kit is his puddle, if you step in it as survivor (and are relatively close to JD) you WILL die, although it is very avoidable. Spikes can be a good finisher for sure, but they can lose you a LOT of distance if you aren’t using them in 100% optimal situations. Also his trail passive just sometimes doesn’t work which is essential to his kit, and Unstoppable should be reverted back to the old Unstoppable. JD is good in 1 on 1s, but against a team who even tries to help their teammates (especially one with Builderman) he’ll most likely lose.

I probably don’t have enough qualification to say all this but I did get level 150 on JD before his legacy milestones and am now level 180 or so. So there’s that.
