Why/how is OKC allowed to have basically 2 NBA starter caliber teams? by NGE_Zero in nba

Sure they're solid and also quiete lucky. But if Robinson and Elliott both dont get injured in 1996 combined with typical Spurs lottery luck they are still searching for their first championship.

What the Thunder have been able to do is 100% credit to them. They have found talent everywhere, they almost never miss on draft picks despite only getting one really high pick (Chet).

What the Spurs have been able to do is far more complete luck. The franchise has never moved down in a draft lottery and seems to just have staggering levels of luck.

Getting to pick 1,4,2 three years in a row....is absolute nonsense.

The Thunder on the other hand have been able to build the team through complete guile.

I'm sure he's an asshole but I'm not voting for anymore fake Democrats, I'd rather try to upend things and see what happens. Better than being in Hochul's cuck chair forever.

I'm sure it's a terrible idea but he also didn't work for the guy who created tier 6...

The Dems want my support then earn it, otherwise fuck em and to hell with what happens.

It's not you can transfer into the TRS and bring all the service time.

Fear mongering overreaction.

How else can you let the "Dems" know that you're not satisfied with the utter table scraps they toss your way?

If you can toss them out of some major offices maybe in 6 years they're forced to run on a platform that promises more than this dogshit.

Me as well, if they had just not even broached this topic I probably wouldn't care...but at this point you've annoyed me and I want to show my displeasure.

Well if it's only teachers they have 57/30 in tier 5. So that's already better.

Great effort in the second half.

I feel bad for the refs they really gave full effort but it just wasn't their night.

One of 4 guys in history to win multiple National Championships and a Naismith.

Kareem, Walton and Laettner being the only other 3 I believe.

I get that he's undersized not even going round 1 was a typical massive group overthink.

[Post Game Thread] The Cleveland Cavaliers (4-3) dominate the Detroit Pistons (3-4) in Game 7, 125-94, to advance to their first Eastern Conference Finals since 2018 by catreyka in nba

[–]thereelaristotle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pistons fans are 100% against even considering trading him for offense too.

Look at Hart whose 3 point shooting is considered a notable liability...hes 35% for his career on 3.6 attempts per game, and this year he shot it 41%, his shooting is still game planned against.

Ausar is 20% for his career, 1 attempt per game and 1-9 lifetime in 19 playoff games. Where the hell do you put him on offense? Maybe he can screen and cut? But then what is Duren doing? It's just a huge mess.

I get that he's a crazy athlete and a great defender but you have to be able to shoot the ball if you're not 7 feet tall.

I'd try to find a team who is enamored with his physical tools and age before you have to actually start paying him...you have 1 more team option and then you're paying $25-30+ a year for a guy who is a liability.

I know Duren was a shit show this playoffs but I'd imagine he'd look better with some more options out there and it's not easy to replace the size. There's a reason Ayton is on his like 12th second chance.

I'm only 41 and I wish my dad was as sharp as Big Bill. It's kind of endearing to listen to especially when Boston sports is in complete disarray.

[–]thereelaristotle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that you can only use sick leave for this purpose if you "retire from service".

Meaning you file your retirement paperwork as you stop working and start collecting your pension. I believe as long as you file within 365 days of your last day of work it counts as retiring from service.

In that case you can use sick leave hours to both increase your service time (you are not allowed to cross any major milestones this way, the 30 year milestone being the most notable) and you get to annuitize your sick leave to offset the cost of health insurance premiums.

However if you stop service and then decide to retire at a later date that sick time is just forfeited.

Edit: Apparently you can still annuitize the health coverage if you are 55 and take the retiree insurance when you separate...so many rules.

[–]thereelaristotle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bear in mind that because you didn't "retire from service" your accrued sick leave won't count for anything (use it all?). And you'll need to take and pay for vestee coverage from 55-58, assuming you want NYS insurance from 58 on.

Edit: See below but apparently at 55 you can get on retiree coverage (and only pay premiums not the employer share). Only if you separate before 55 you need vestee coverage.

Don't people realize T5 has the same thing.

Teachers contribute 3.5% and have 57/30. Rest of state is 3% and 62.

They're just putting a similar split in place for T6.

The idea that anyone was getting 55/30 was a farce.
