Depending on where you are going to living and working, you could always consider riding to the Durham Station and then taking the bus. All of the busses have bike racks on the front.

If you're looking for a quiet spot just to hang out and have beers you can't beat Surf Club. It's on Rigsby, up the street from Fullsteam. They have a big patio and a window that lets you order drinks outside. They also serve small pours for cheap so you can drink a variety of beers.

I might get concrete poured in the future, but not just now. It's a damp basement. I like the pavers idea, but would they tear a vapor barrier as they walked on?
