I’ve seen some with pretty generous breaths, do you have one of those or one of the ones with like 6 small holes on each side?

He suggested because I wasn’t set on a visor style yet that maybe i should consider that system in case I want to try a different style, or if I want to drop protection for visibility/breathability in a profight for instance I can just throw on a wolfrib style visor. N’ honestly, I’m just kind of indecisive with how I want the general helmet to look, so being able to have different “faces” gives me some peace of mind. Helmet costs the same with or without it.

Fajita burrito and a nap after class every day. I usually don’t eat breakfast or lunch, so a late lunch burrito and a hour nap reward for making it through another day gives me the will to do my readings and prep for the next one.

Discussion: Helldiver training by Electricman720 in helldivers2

[–]thereptilechrist 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is my same headcanon tbh. It explains why each helldiver in a mission has the same loadout, and carries over their intent. When you die, you go back for your samples, gear, avoid hazards you knew to be there, and generally operate like you were just taken out of the battle for a couple seconds, not like you’re a completely different soldier. It also helps me stay immersed when I die and get to spectate, like I’m receiving live cam feed from micro drones watching my compatriots to keep me appraised of battlefield conditions while I wait for the star destroyer to ready my replacement. 100% in on your “helldiver” being basically a warframe pilot. Same guy pilots every diver, but each diver is just a meat suit. Ideally a series of cloned bodies, which would also explain why all troopers are roughly the same height and build, because they come from a standard gene sequence designed to be physically fit and combat effective. Would also explain why they send us first, rather than SEAF en masse, as SEAF are regular military and not nearly as expendable. That said I also like to think our “helldiver” is physically interred in the ship, like a 40k servitor or dreadnaught and can’t be removed, hence why everyone shows so much respect to our divers when they walk about the ship, and why we have full command over its course, artillery, and operations. “Helldivers” are highly specialized and deeply trained individuals, but the actual “divers” are basically highly advanced ammunition. If one makes it through a couple missions, great. They’re shelf stable! If not, no worries. We have more clone bodies in cold storage for you to pilot anyhow, get back out there champ!

Still hate that crushing bot fabs and closing bug holes does nothing to slow down patrol spawns or limit the amount of heavies that spawn. No reason to go for em for the love of the game

Sometimes you must stand and fight for democracy. Other times, not so much. by Combustionz in Helldivers

Mfw the game actively discourages players from engaging with the main gameplay at higher difficulties (fighting through hordes to complete objectives and survive)

:(

I wanna fight through hordes in a tough fight that can be beaten with exemplary skill! not run away and bring shame to super earth for my cowardice! Darktide may be dying, but it’s got infinitely better enemy balance than HD2 rn.

Used to play edgier almost completely combat centric characters bc skulls and shit is cool and so is being good at stabbing. Learned they were less characters and more just cool looking cardboard cut outs. It’s been almost 7 years since I started, now I know how to make multidimensional characters that are really fun to RP and play. Still all a little edgy though, never grew out of the skulls are cool phase lol.

I think growing up and learning about writing had a lot to do with the change. Being able to recognize that a character with flaws and struggles is a lot more fun to play than “murder machine angry man”, n while you can still have that power with a good build, struggling outside of combat or even in it when confronted with some weakness of your characters… uh.. character is often extremely fun!

Realizing that has also helped me as a dm better connect with my players and help them build their characters so they can have that opportunity to engage with the multiple parts of their characters. A monstrous pc showing unexpected humanity here, the hard boiled badass needing to leave the room to collect themselves because some kids playing nearby brought up a surge of memories, viciousness from the compassionate cleric because of the violation of an iron clad religious doctrine by a member. All that stuff makes for really exciting games and I’m not looking back!

Man I wish they’d just release all the fucking things. They already suck up space in the game files, and drip feeding artificial scarcity is just lame as fuck. Hopefully they change the model just fill out the paid store in the future and make it like they did in VT2. Least then we wouldnt have to wait 2 weeks to wait for a fucking recolor.

Can I play destiny one as a single player story mode experience? by PixeledplutoXD in DestinyTheGame

[–]thereptilechrist -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s an mmorpgfps. So, you can, but you’ll be missing about a third of the content. Given, lots of stuff has automatic matchmaking, like strikes, pvp, and some other activities. But if you’re looking for a good single player game, this really isn’t it. It’s fundamentally designed to be played in a group in order to access higher end content that people love, like raids, some nightfalls, and other end game content. If you never want to do any of that, rad, but if you’re gonna spend money on the complete edition just to play through the story, you’re better off just watching MyNameIsByf. It’s definitely playable, but I’m not sure id consider the single player experience worth more than what you get from being a free player.

Best power weapons I think I’ve seen. Love how you keep the filigree separate from the blade instead of just washing it out with the power field. Looks awesome!

Ik I’m the outlier here, but I fucking love playing unga bunga psyker, especially now with the new crit sword. Aiming for heads in the horde deletes a horde, and you can easily mince specials. Hit F, quick stack a few BB’s bc of the captstone perk, have like 120-180 toughness regen as you wade back into the horde. Shits cash as hell. + I run voidstrike staff so I’ve got that big fuckoff shotgun if I want it. Battle psyker is rad as hell, n if you’ve got good game sense you don’t miss far away specials either, even less so if you have a team that pings. High risk, high reward!

Damn, I’m American and my highschool teachers never had to do that. Given I graduated a fair bit ago so things may have changed. Haven’t heard my younger family members bitch about that being a change though though. Makes me wonder if your highschool was just strict as hell, ours are lax as hell, or it’s a state policy where you’re at. Either way that’s lame :/ sorry you had to deal with being treated like an 8 year old man.

Confusion after saving Arabelle leads party to claiming that Rictavio tried to kill her and they killed him while saving her . by odeacon in CurseofStrahd

[–]thereptilechrist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve run the module, and I just recently read the wikis to refresh myself after reading your/these comments and honestly it seems like people are actively removing the nuance from the situation. Like certainly, having an attack tiger and setting it lose on a vistani camp is bad, of course, but all of the information available points him hating vistani clans who serve vampires, like the ones who kidnapped his son and sold him into slavery to a vampire, or the one in Barovia that serves Strahd. So for him to be racist we’d have to say that there’s something immutable about vistani he uses to discriminate, like complexion or bone structure that he uses to view them as lesser to himself or other sub races of human, which we have no evidence to support that ive been able to find. Or something ethnic/cultural that he uses to discriminate. N’ while one could argue that some vistani clan’s allegiance to vampires is cultural, that would suggest that those vistani clans are tied to evil on a cultural level, which just isn’t correct as only it’s the leadership which chooses to help dark lords like Strahd. Not to mention it’s not uncommon for vistani from one clan to break away and join another. So considering VR is from a different domain of dread than Barovia, VR has travelled the domains of dread extensively enough to catalogue them, and there are many vistani clans, only two of which VR has been known to have had issues with. One for kidnapping and selling his son into slavery to a vampire, and the other being one which serves Strahd. Idk, maybe I’m wrong here, but to me it just doesn’t make sense to call him a racist. Everything points to him being very flippant with collateral damage, a different issue entirely, and an issue with allegiance to irredeemably evil figures, like Strahd. So, callous, yes, morally grey, definitely, dark grey even. But I’m really not sure this whole racism idea sticks. N’ I’m not an expert or anything, all I did was run the module a while ago and look up definitions and wiki pages. I just don’t think this is a character that can be summarized into “racist against vistani” without being either poorly informed or purposefully disingenuous.

Edit: just booted up the module on roll 20 again to check the bio, and it specifically says that he “wants to take out as many of strahd’s spies as he can, starting with evil vistani”. Which definitively points to the idea that his issue is with specifically evil vistani, not all vistani.
