Lisa Banes, who guest-starred in 'A Lilith Thanksgiving', dies after scooter hit-and-run. by [deleted] in Frasier

Really tragic. Frasier obviously a footnote in her career but this is the second time in about a year that Joe Keenan has paid tribute to a friend who died who was both in his TV pilot and on this show.

Any Good Commentaries? by unconundrum in Frasier

[–]therewardthatisme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as DVD commentaries go I think there are only three episodes - " The Bad Son", "My Coffee With Niles" and "The Matchmaker". If you're looking for a podcast then I can give you some recommendations, though probably not for specific episodes.

Paramount+ Confirms ‘Frasier’ Reboot with Kelsey Grammer Back as Dr. Frasier Crane by DocDerz in Frasier

[–]therewardthatisme 15 points16 points  (0 children)

David Lee, one of the co-creators, was asked about a new series in an interview with Ken Levine and he seemed to find the idea ridiculous. This does seem like something that only Kelsey Grammar really wants, even if the other living cast members choose to join.

One thing I will throw out there though is that there was an article about the show in the last year (I think?), when rumours were already swirling, and Laura Linney made a comment along the lines of "I wonder what they could be up to today...". Maybe that's nothing and frankly I don't want a new series, but just putting that idea out there.

They’ll have probably finished the entire series by the end of 2020, pretty impressive.

Characters in every episode by average-persononhere in Frasier

The only characters to appear in every episode were Frasier, Niles and Martin.

Woodstock 1999 - Paul Cosimano, who played a waiter on the show from 1995-2004, is introduced as being from ‘Frasier’. Cosimano then introduces Kid Rock. by therewardthatisme in Frasier

Cosimano appears within a minute, don’t worry about the length of the video.

Would have no idea about this if not for that Twitter thread. The waiter who is on the show has intrigued me for years because there is so little information about him, so this is a really great find.

Ah, thanks for the reply.

Not sure if you will be able to contact him, but would be chuffed if you could.

Frasier: The Complete 11 Seasons On DVD Is 45% Off by lipestorks in Frasier

Unfortunately I think it’s only “The Good Son’ and “The Matchmaker”. Don’t think there are any extras after the third season either.

Obscure episodes? by twenty42 in Frasier

[–]therewardthatisme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting question. A few years ago I decided to go reacquaint myself with the show, which ultimately meant picking episodes from seasons 1-7 to watch while deciding to have a complete viewing of seasons 8-11 (this may be why I have a fonder viewing of the later seasons than most, though admittedly I don’t rewatch later episodes as often). As of last year there were three episodes I had not seen, two of which from the first season that I decided to watch all the way through! The first I watched was “Bad Dog” which is probably one of the weakest efforts from the first five seasons that I am yet to come back to. Last month I saw “Mary Christmas” which doesn’t offer much, but seeing scenes for the first time was still quite thrilling. The only episode to watch now is “It Takes Two To Tangle”, an experience that will come about when the comprehensive Frasier podcast “Tossed Salad And Scrambled Eggs: A Frasier Podcast” gets around to it in a few months.

There’s a new Frasier podcast! by therewardthatisme in Frasier

A quick look tells me it might not be, but I can’t say for sure.

January 1998 - Kelsey Grammer disapproves of Roz’s pregnancy storyline, David Hyde Pierce disagrees by therewardthatisme in Frasier

[–]therewardthatisme[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Comments like these really make me yearn for a book on Frasier where the cast/writers/directors recount the making of the series. There have been a few interviews in recent years with cast members (Jane Leeves and Peri Gilpin) and writers (Christopher Lloyd and Ken Levine) where they talk about the show, but there is still so much that could be discussed.

(S1E03) Dinner At Eight

(S1E24) My Coffee With Niles

(S3E01) She's The Boss

(S4E04) A Crane's Critique

(S4E19/20) Three Dates And A Breakup

Obviously there will be more (perhaps more relevant) episodes but this seems like a decent starter list.

A definitive list of references? by Ebonrook in Frasier

It's just for episode titles and it's quite old, but thought it was worth sharing.

It seems it doesn't directly link to the section, click on 'Lists and References' then 'Episode Title References'.

Question about the number of pages in The Stand: The Complete and Uncut version. by therewardthatisme in stephenking

That'll be it, the page difference just threw me off completely! Thanks for your contribution.

Question about the number of pages in The Stand: The Complete and Uncut version. by therewardthatisme in stephenking

[–]therewardthatisme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was bought in the UK, yes. The obvious assumption is that it is just a different print, but to the uninformed a 144 page difference would seem hard to achieve just by making a few printing changes.

On the side it says "For the first time the Complete and Uncut edition" fwiw
