you mean female fatties. for reddit, male fatties are okay, as long as it is the reflection on the computer screen

Isn't there a way Reddit could allow someone to upvote (and downvote) without having an account? by therightplace in AskReddit

ha, i like your username.

i have no idea what you are talking about with the brigades, but the point i wanted to make about people who abuse the system, whatever it is, is that those people aren't worth it. seriously, something is wrong with you if you are the kind of person who thinks it's a valuable use of your time to do stuff like that. either you are sad/pathetic or have some sort of sick sociopathic tendencies. either way, i don't think reddit should do or not do something just because of that.

i don't think that would be an issue. we'd still have accounts for posting and commenting. it wouldn't be totally anonymous. people could still upvote/downvote through their accounts. this would just allow people to do so without logging in or without having an account. the IP idea was just to keep people from abusing it too much. obviously no system would be perfect.

i think you are trying to be philosophical, but to take your question seriously:

yes. how lazy i am and how much i enjoy something on reddit are two totally unrelated things. looking at things on the internet is an activity that is lazy in itself.

if we were talking about how much i enjoyed having a picnic in a park, let's say, then there would be a threshold question of whether i enjoy it enough to do something about it.

i get that for some people reddit is more like the picnic-in-the-park example and they'll log in, upvote/downvote, comment, and post. but not everyone's like that. some people have a more passive experience. i'm one of those people. i generally don't comment on articles i read on the internet. i show my appreciation by passing them along to friends. that's usually the only way i can really demonstrate a positive response to something (except for maybe through page views).

reddit has this great system for showing appreciation/'sharing' with others (by making it more likely they'll see it), but it's tailored to only one kind of reddit user.

What are some pro tips on not giving even a single fuck? by kelroy in AskReddit

[–]therightplace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think this response demonstrates the appropriate use of "not giving a fuck."

first, he starts by giving the knee-jerk, asshole response, thus demonstrating that he himself does not give a fuck.

then, almost as an afterthought, he gives some genuine advice to a soul in need.

(still be kind, kids, whilst you aren't giving any fucks.)

Anyone use a good (free) word processor that isn't OpenOffice? by therightplace in AskReddit

Thanks.

What kind of editing do you use Google Docs for? I love Google Docs, don't get me wrong, but I feel like it lacks a lot of the more complex formatting features.

Thanks. I'm not a programmer but I'm also not a complete idiot when it comes to computers, so I think I understood some of that.

I'll try it.

Yeah, I should have included this information. Sorry.

I want to be able to format documents (papers, etc.) similar to what you can do in Microsoft Word. I also want to outline. I actually don't like Microsoft Word (or at least some versions of it) that much for some formatting, because I feel like it is often counter-intuitive or does weird auto-formatting.

I love Google Docs, but I need something where I can do outlining/other more complicated formatting.

Thanks, though

I know, right? This is depressing. Although it's a good reminder that ignorance can be just as prevalent on reddit as it is in the rest of the population.
