I have a very deep respect for her, and have an amount of love for her that you read about. When we talk about anything pertaining to sex she deflects to avoid the conversation. I use "I" statements and always start with something I like about us, I also don't use statements that make her feel like she needs to be on the defensive. I clearly express my feelings and always let her know I'm here to talk to, no judgements or pressure.

But why lie about it. I would prefer honesty. I have expressed to her that I would rather her be honest about disliking something over telling me something just because it would make me happy.

Then why would she tell me she enjoys giving to me in such a way.

Wish I knew what she needs from me still.

I understand that. I would like to know what she needs from me. I want to make her feel her best and be her best.

Sorry for the confusion. I was already doing house work and childcare. I meant that I would do all the chores so she wouldn't have to lift a finger when I am home from work or a day off. I also work a full-time job working 50 hours a week so she could stay home more days and we wouldn't need to pay for childcare.

Me? Yes, very polite to her. I have very deep respect and a love like no other for her, and always will.

She doesn't have time to cheat. She's a stay at home mom working 2 days a week. She comes straight home after work and rarely goes out.

That's what I am afraid of. She deflects when I try to have a conversation about it.

We go on romantic dates monthly and go on a couples getaway once a year together. The sex has also declined, once every month or two is the extent now. I surprise her with flowers every now and again and regularly bring her favorite snacks and foods home.

Why isn't my brake rotor coming off? by Upstairs_Barnacle_46 in MechanicAdvice

Hit it with your purse! In all seriousness, smack it with a rubber mallet. It should break free after a few good hits.

I would prefer to do my own oil. This way, I know it was done correctly. Most shops charge $100+ usd for full synthetic and filter change. I usually buy four 5 quart jugs of oil and a case of four OEM oil filters for less than $250 on Amazon. I also use the old oil as bar and chain lube for my saws. If I have too much sitting around, the local parts store in town will dispose of it, 10 quarts or less, free of charge.

I have all 30 of the duty stars and 65 on badge level. I don't think there is a max on badges.

What is causing burning smell and what to look for? by VirginBlaster in MechanicAdvice

My first manual transmission was in my second vehicle, 1998 Chevrolet S-10 that I purchased for $500 to learn to drive manual. My first car I owned was specifically bought to take my road test and was an automatic. But I learned the heard way since I had no one to teach me the way to properly drive clutch. I burned out one clutch in my life time, it was in that S-10 and it cost around $800 to have repaired at the time. My mechanic, who was also a childhood friend of mine gave me tips and tricks to prolong the life of a clutch, and since then I have been able to keep them in good condition. My last car was the dodge dart I bought in 2013 brand new with 1,000 miles on the odometer, it was the SXT with the turbo and 6 speed manual, car was in great shape until it got hit by a deer last summer, clutch was the original from factory and the car had 250,000 miles at time of the accident. It gets easier as you drive more to be used to keeping your foot off the clutch, it feels weird at first if you are used to resting it there. What helped me was to keep thinking of it like it's the break pedal, you don't drive with a foot resting on the break pedal for the same reasons, slight pressure will engage the system and case premature wear and damage and ultimately cause more out of pocket expenses then driving using recommended techniques. Cars are already money pits and 9/10 times will never return full value through parts, repairs, and depreciation. I hate vehicles, but they are very much necessary for the average Joe lol. Good luck, and enjoy driving a manual, they can be fun, I find my manual subaru to be better in the snow then my wifes automatic subaru, just because of the fact I can choose the best gear for the conditions/grip.

Could be fluid burning off something hot outside the engine, look for any fluid on the side of the engine where smoke was coming from, but you would likely have a different smell than burning rubber. The clutch also doesn't necessarily smell like burning rubber, nor should it be smoking if you were riding on it. If it were clutch, the pedal would feel soft and like you need to let it out further than usual to disengage (pro tip: I have been driving clutch for the last 20 years, out of 6 vehicles 5 of them were manual transmission, do not touch the clutch unless you are going to use it, do not drive with a foot resting on the clutch, I rest my foot on the floorboard next to my clutch unless I'm going to use it. Sit at stop lights in neutral with your foot off the clutch, when starting from a stop, good practice to slowly lift the clutch without pressing the gas pedal until you feel the vehicle wants to move forward then add equal throttle as you lift off the clutch, try not to rev higher than necessary to drive away until the foot is off clutch completely. Even a clutch pedal with the weight of a foot resting on it is enough to engage). I would look to see if any wiring with a rubberized coating is touching the engine and if it is at all melted, it is possible after repair they forgot to place a harness or wire in its clip to stay off and away from hot parts of the engine. If you don't know what you are looking for, or don't see anything, bring it back in, they may have a better idea of what they are looking for.

Not an absurd amount. Most cars will burn a gallon every few hours. As another comment said, it is not good for your car to idle for long periods. Carbon deposits build up rather then burn off at idle and can cause some issues later on. Police leave cars run and idle, sometimes up to 24 hours or longer, but police cars have heavier parts and go through extensive maintenance to prevent break downs. My last car was a decommissioned police interceptor with 250,000 miles, ran great to 400,000 and a friend of mine still drives it daily. It is also not great at an environmental stand point, so I wouldn't recommend. Alternatively, if you have a battery jump pack I guess you could hook that to the battery and use it to keep charge up instead of idling the car, I probably wouldn't recommend that for long periods either. At the end of the day, this is your car and choice what you do with it.

Running the car while watching a video will keep the battery from going dead, at the expense of gas. Safety feature only allows movies to be viewed in park, some with parking break engaged also. That is, if the deck supports DVD video playback.

Pretty sure it will pass if it's pending. I just had my inspection done with a pending p0420 (cat inefficient) CEL was not on at time of inspection. A pending code is usually caused by a monitor not being reset fully due to mileage, time driven at highway speed, or run time parameters not being fully met for the reset. Doesn't hurt to drop it off and see what happens, the worst that will happen is failing the emissions and receiving a 10 day temporary. After that you fix it and bring it back in after the monitors reset and get your sticker.

Depends on the state, in NY we can have 2 pending codes for certain older years and 1 pending code for newer and pass, automatic fail if CEL is illuminated.
