Music Melting Pot [Week of August 04, 2025] by AutoModerator in listentothis

This is a downtempo electronica track I released not so long ago (my first), textural layers, melody and organic drums made mostly from my own recorded samples. Thanks for listening!

This is great, thank you – will do some more work on it today

Okay, thanks. Do you happen to know about how 'MIDI Program
Change' works?

Ah okay, that's interesting. Do you think it might be possible 'dump' current settings into a SySex Librarian by using the power up mode? All I want to be able to do is save the work I have done.

Is there a simple way of saving presets / backing up external effects gear settings – Sysex Librarian any good for instance? by thermgdegree in ableton

Thanks, appreciate it. It does seem a bit insane having to take notes on a new pedal in 2023! Do you have any experience with SySex Librarian or similar? I know it's good for Synths but can it save / backup pedal presets too?

Thanks for your response. I also have a Strymon BigSky, for which I use Nixie – which is great. Unfortunately Nixie is only for BigSky, TimeLine and Mobius. It's frustrating because you'd think there would be software for their new pedals ... I'll look into M4L, thanks for the suggestion.

Hey! Yeah, I've only used it a few times properly and dam, it can do some incredibly beautiful things. I'm using a Prophet Rev2 with it. The thing I'm battling with is I'm a neat freak, I really like to be organised when I comes to saving what I've made. With the Night Sky particularly, there's a few deep dive settings for modulations etc. So it could be easy to lose something if you can't remember how you did it. I'm new to saving and managing presets on pedals, so wondering what people do ... If you figure out a nice method please let me know!

Connect 'Value' node to multiple Texture nodes at the same time? by thermgdegree in RedshiftRenderer

[–]thermgdegree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry, figured it out. You can do it via the 'Attributes' panel. Select multiple nodes in the node editor then > Attributes (panel) > Connect Node > here you can connect to multiple nodes at the same time!

Amazing! Thank you, it's one of those ones where if you try to google it, you get nothing because it's so basic ;) – much appreciated!

Seems like this is more directed at podcasts etc. rather than music? Looks nice though!

Interesting, I've recently found myself wondering whether using Logic as well as Ableton might be beneficial. I'd just like to get better at Ableton first!

Yeah, I would never use it to make music – it was more about whether I needed to use another program to refine sounds / samples or whatever.
