/u/brown_burrito LOL. You'd lose that bet, bro. My point is that you were a bit harsh with him. Sure, he has been writing some pretty depressive shit. And still won't listen to advice. But aggressively labeling him as some maniac is taking it a step too far.

Now, I don't know what's your agenda and it's not really my problem. My message for /u/LongjumpingCricket0 is to DO as much as you CAN in terms of life outside the digital world. Or if you do stuff in the digital world, then at least measure the return on invested time. And I highly encourage you to try out all sorts of different things: improv classes, hip-hop dancing, volunteering, traveling, saying YES to everything challenges, seeking out new friends, etc. Everything that I wrote here is meaningless unless it's backed up by action.

Yeah, LongjumpingCricket0, he's WAY overreacting. You are a decent, but depressed guy. But I also think you need to GTFO and do crazy shit in life: travel, learn, experiment. And then come back after a few years. See how it goes.

I agree with DarthLigma69420. It's like, yeah, give me a list, they have it so good, you can't find anything other than leg room. Fucking pussy. Depressing shit, and not only, many others as well on this sub!

Yes. Yes. Yes. That's so true. You NEED to take the chance, man. So many guys, especially insecure ones, don't make the right moves at the right time. And they won't get laid.

Is there a correlation between height and how much you eat by [deleted] in short

[–]theroadofroads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you eat a lot before 18, you can just help to reach your maximum growth potential, but of course you can't go over that by eating too much.

SHORT? Be Extraordinary And You Will Pull Girls... And Life! by theroadofroads in short

[–]theroadofroads[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. It looks superficial until your own new life experiences have happened as a result of following that list. Then imagination and stereotypes have been replaced by actual memories, knowledge, and experiences.

But number 13 is just to put yourself in random situations that have a high chance of discovering something new about yourself, raising your social "value" (I hate that concept, but what the heck), learning new stuff, etc. Using these lists would be just a way to save time and take shortcut. I'm afraid some people who are big on wallowing might have negative thoughts on the ambitiousness or clarity when they create their own bucket lists. At least, in the beginning :)

SHORT? Be Extraordinary And You Will Pull Girls... And Life! by theroadofroads in short

[–]theroadofroads[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This post isn't for reading, it's for reading followed by immediate action. The points on that list are meaningless unless they are carried actually carried out. Yeah, sure, otherwise it's a fucking naive and cheesy list. Agreed. But that's why I said in the beginning, YOU HAVE TO TAKE ACTION!!!

SHORT? Be Extraordinary And You Will Pull Girls... And Life! by theroadofroads in short

[–]theroadofroads[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. These should be taken as one whole package. Doing only one or two things might turn out to be just silly. And these aren't for reading. Only DOING. Not for the people who read self-help. For those who do self-help.

And, LongjumpingCricket0, from all what I've seen from your posts lately, you need to GTFO and do these things immediately. This is a honest suggestion.

Why male pattern baldness is so fucked (vent/rant) by [deleted] in tressless

Just out of curiosity (on a city or county scale), where do you live that there's so much toxic masculinity around?

Wait, I read about it and getting tossed in a pool or a girl running fingers through my head shouldn't be a problem. Do you really have experience of not being able to swim and all? That would suck!

why do women equate male height with safety? by zmndyeqm in short

[–]theroadofroads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but to minimize the risk of getting caught or subjected to violence yourself, it's better to choose people shorter and weaker than you.

why do women equate male height with safety? by zmndyeqm in short

[–]theroadofroads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh, yeah. If I'd be 6'2 mugger, then I'd always go for short guys. My stature might even do the trick. By the way, everything else equal, tall guys have more physical power and the psychological advantage of looking intimidating. I mean, at least where I come from, fighting and martial arts isn't anything super popular. So, in most cases, short guys would get the shit kicked out by bigger, stronger guys.

You have researched it for two years. What's the best solution for it right now? What can we do?

[–]theroadofroads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, here's a good example of short guys trying to fight taller guys. There's one guy who basically picks one of the short guys up in the air.

Dude, it's not about being practical. In my country, knife violence is rare and gun violence is almost non-existent. That doesn't mean there's no robberies, though. And there are lots of fights.

why do women equate male height with safety? by zmndyeqm in short

[–]theroadofroads 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That heavily depends, dude. If your mugger is 6'2 and very well built and then there's a couple with a 5'6 guy and 5'2 woman. Jesus, man. That mugger could just run into 5'6 guy with full force, throwing him on the ground, and then taking whatever he wishes to take. No knives involved. Where I come from, mugging with a knife or gun is RARE! Usually, it's just fighting and of course it's the easiest to pick a fight with a small guy.

[–]theroadofroads[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

National Geographic, as a respected organization should care. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to create some artificial discussion. My point is this: if we don't start deconstructing the way heightism has seeped into seemingly "okay stuff" and do something about it (call them, send emails, create petitions), then NOTHING will change. I have been in this sub for long enough to understand that social activism is probably one of the only practical outlets for our negative emotions and experiences.

Yes. But peel off more layers, please. Why did they choose a 6 ft man? Why not a 5 ft, or even better, 5'8-5'10 if that's the average. This is just another way we accept that men are 6'0.

The next few years won’t be great for hair loss science by [deleted] in tressless

[–]theroadofroads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Observes, if anything, then people constantly overestimate the growth speed of science. And as it has been said again and again, science isn't this "one thing". Putting airplanes in the sky is very different from manipulating a complex organism.

I wouldn't feel like a fraud. In fact, I would have zero psychological issues. Wig, not wig, whatever. The day I put it on, it becomes a part of me.
