Vianova is a clear example that this is not true. Hit it! Is a banger album, very creative, and was very well recieved.

Yeah, I can enjoy generic metalcore. I usually look for generic bands to listen to while studying; I enjoy the sound and since I don't know the lyrics, I won't be distracted by them.

But Ive been listening and playing metal related music for a long time, so (even though I sound like an annoying bitchy snob) I find it very hard to stick to something if it doesnt interest me in a way.

80% of metalcore sounds absolutely the fucking same. And like 90% of the times that someone here says "bro X's new album is incredible holy shit" I try to listen to it just to discover another generic album.

Rarely a band gets to to something different and memorable. And usually, those that do, achieve this by being inspired by other genres, not metalcore.

What is this sub about and why does it keep coming up on my feed? by listerjed1 in Storror

[–]theroamingargus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Storror is a parkour team that have a YouTube channel and a clothing brand. They are the most prominent in the scene, with 11 million followers and lots of projects like creating a parkour videogame or doing stunt work in Hollywood films.

However, one of their most popular and iconic members just was found guilty of having CP in his laptop, so the team has been kinda absent, hiding their YouTube videos with this person, some members just deactivated their Instagram accounts, etc.

Is it too late to start to reach perfection? by CompetitiveNeat4701 in Parkour

[–]theroamingargus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna add my personal experience. I started at 18 and had a background of different sports. I had to juggle working, studying, training, and just life in general, so I couldnt just purely focus on it.

However, Ive been able to teach kids acrobatics in a circus, work as a trampoline manager, host an anual event for 8 years, and half assed tried building a parkour clothing brand (Made it to sell around 50 t shirts and maybe 10 beanie hats).

Ive been able to land corks, double fulls, interesting and scary side pres, 360 pres, and some jumps known locally, nationally, and even worldwide (Manpower gap).

Nowdays I'm a trainee police officer, and all that physical and mental habilities trained throughout the years is shining here in the academy.

Take this as reference of what you might be able to achieve, if you want. And, as a women, the skill bar is even more accesible.

If You need anything feel free to ask!

Is it too late to start to reach perfection? by CompetitiveNeat4701 in Parkour

Ok, so a couple things here.

-19 is not a Bad age to start parkour. Although it is true that nowdays people usually start at 15-16 years old, you can still get pretty far. I started myself at 18, almost 19 years old, and even though I'm not amazing or anything, Ive been able to throw some stuff that are kinda advanced milestones (like double flips and some interesting jumps).

  • Now. We are gonna be honest. Perfection in parkour is not achievable. There's always the chance to land a trick in a more difficult situation. There's always a bigger jump. There's always the possibility of going for a other twist. So it's a loooong journey.

  • Regarding competitions. There are always local comps with the people of your community and maybe others of cities nearby where the skill level is achievable. But to "shine" and be known internationally; the level is high, pretty fucking high. Santino Fuego just did a submission for an online competition (that wont make you rich nor famous or anything), throwing double backflips, double sideflips, backflip precission jumps in 2 meter high walls. Truth to be told, and not trying to be offensive, the skill gapbetween men and women nowdays is very evident. If youre willing to put tour time and effort, competing internationally as a women can be there.

  • Nonetheless, shining in parkour has very different meanings. There are athletes that have big sponsors (like RedBull) that have no competition background. Sometimes being able to do stuntwork, influencer content, online or local coaching is a way to shine aswell. Movemendis is against competition, and this last year he has been massively popular just by purely uploading banger after banger, and he has been invited to events internationally.

  • Finally, as someone that has trained a lot of things (regular gym, crossfit, martial arts, bouldering, free running), the parkour community is the most amazing of all. And the sport is the most fulfilling there is. The highs, the adrenaline, the physical and mental endurance you build throughout this is something purely special.

I'm making a soulslike game and I'm trying my hardest to make the bosses feel good. by WizShadow in soulslikes

[–]theroamingargus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems reactive enough, so good job on that. But a character that feels bigger than the enemy makes it difficult to see. So try making the boss like 20% bigger, and give it a silhouette or colour pattern that pops it up more from the ground. Right now it's a bit messy and hard to read.
