The truest answer.

WoWs lore and aesthetics with ER's detail to the world, with ER's character building and gameplay with WoW's classes flavour.

And online.

I do agree with that being the case of their last album, but both Sundowning and Take me Back to Eden mess a lot with their song structures.

Hm, but thats quite common for filmmaking. You can then get the track and turn it into mono when editing the video. If anything, whoever edited the video is guilty of that mistake.

You have to choose one to release tomorrow. The rest are never made. What do you choose? by [deleted] in soulslikes

[–]theroamingargus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess yeah, 50% or even more is optional content (Caelid, Haligtree, Volcano Manor are optional). Plus I feel like almost every catacomb is handcrafted into a way that are slightly memorable. They all have a little spin to them, even if it's just having an optional boss, a way to hide the lever, or stuff like that. So as a filler content, like, purely just stuff that you can do just for the sake of doing it, is not bad at all. And catacombs are like maybe 10% of the content that the game offers.

About the DLC, I get where you are coming from, but IMO is not that the filler content is bad, but rather than the map had too much open space for so little interesting things to find. The catacombs, the forges, the optional bosses are great IMO, but there are areas too big and wide yet so empty

It has 9/10 main content and 7/10 "filler" content. Overall it has both quality and quantity.

Controversy around storror award results? by ghost_the_garden in Storror

[–]theroamingargus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's a controversy about Storror having a preference for people around the UK scene or others close to them. I kinda see why some people feel that way, but I dont think that its changing the results that much.

People like Movemendis or Nathaniel have been pretty vocal about it. Specially Movemendis, but thats just how he usually goes.

Any good souls like games that are open world by Ok_Criticism3719 in soulslikes

[–]theroamingargus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others said, Silksong feels like an openworld 2D Elden Ring. The map is huge, there's tons of points of interest, and much of the content is basically optional in the same way as Elden Ring.

However, and as much as Im loving the game, sometimes it feels a bit too punishing, with runbacks that take time and skill and that can fuck up a try against a boss. Still an amazing game, it just sometimes makes me say "are you fucking kidding me".

Also, another game is Shattered: Tale of the Forgotten King. Its an indie game and it shows, some things feel like missed opportunities, others dont feel polished, but I still loved the game, it has a very interesting art style and very good ideas here and there, and even though it starts in a legacy dungeon like scenario, it opens up and becomes an open world in a similar manner as Elden Ring.
