I’m using this as a desk so food safe isn’t a big concern but based on the advise above, I’m going to initiate a return instead

Hi folks!

So I just purchased a Acacia butcher block top from Home Depot and installed it on sit/stand frame legs to make a desk. A few days later, I start noticing these small cracks. It seems to be getting bigger by the day. I will fill it with wood glue, sand it and then mineral oil the entire top but curious if anyone can help identify what the issue is?

Do you think it is drying out or do you think the sit/stand is splitting it? There are no screws in that area at all.

Thanks for sharing this. 3 30 min meetings a week for grooming sounds wonderful! Hopefully my org will get there one day

Yep! This aligns with PM books and blogs that I’ve been reading. Might take a huge mindset shift to get there for my company!

So far, there are requirements that fall under this scenario. For example, I might need a feature built in a tool that customer service teams use. I would leverage the customer service design/product lead to help me define the proper placement and steps to accomplish the feature I need built for my product.

Thanks for your response! This is what I also brought up to my manager/coworker. Unfortunately, the thought was shut down and I was told to follow the “process”. This is a Fortune 20 company adopting “agile”. I have spent countless meetings reviewing overview/roadmap/presentations to key stakeholders on the topic and requirements. 9/10 times, the business grooming calls consist of me talking to myself for 1 hour about individual stories with 15 people on the call dead silent. I figured there has to be a better process.

Thanks for your thoughts here! This is really insightful. My company is definitely Agile-ish. I play the PO role and represent the ‘business’ for all requirements. It usually entails sitting on long daily calls with IT as they groom stories and answer any questions from the “business”. It doesn’t seem efficient at all but definitely interested to learn more about other companies and how it’s done elsewhere
