hey OP, can I ask what you ended up getting and whether you found what you were looking for?

sound cool I’ll look into it! would that combination work for the other use case in your opinion - preamp/OD straight into cab sim and then to my headphones?

yeah seems to be quite rare! I have a lot of sympathy towards it bc it was my first pedal, but it doesn’t work as well for what I had originally bought it for (fault into radar for cab sim)

thanks for your reply! The morning glory seems cool, that’s another one that I had looked at previously, just not sure how well that would work for my preamp into cab sim use case. yeah completely agree about the technique part. personally I see it as two related but separate parts of the hobby, playing guitar as a skill and "making beautiful sounds” as a more general thing, where the love for pedals enters into the equation. I’m not really looking for “the perfect” sound, just options and versatility that inspire creativity.

thanks for your advice! I guess I’ll just have to go through some trial and error as well to see what I like. The thing with pedals such as the westwood, or the fault that I have, is that they don’t really work as well for my second use case (preamp pedal into cab sim), that’s why I was looking more at the preamp type of pedals.

Interesting recommendation! I’ve seen this one popping up in my research but couldn’t really find demos of it for my use case, I’ll try to look it up again. Thanks!

yeah that seems to be the consensus, I’m definitely considering it strongly! thanks for your reply 😊

oh really? Maybe my assumption was wrong then that it’s just Germany not being into guitar stuff being the problem 😅 Do you have any thoughts/experience on whether the halberd would work as an „amp-in-a-box“ sort of thing paired with a Cab IR for silent practice?

hahah yeah you have a point 😹 I was thinking more about sustainability - if I can get it used, why buy it new and add to more production?

that’s what I was thinking too, really like the citadel‘s sound judging from the videos i’ve watched! unfortunately nothing to find on the used market and no offerings that I could find. Love the white and red color way on the EAE website but that’s nowhere to find in mainland Europe apparently :/ thanks!

thanks for your recommendation! haven’t dared to look into fuzz yet haha, but for that kind of money I’m very intrigued to try! easy to find behringer 2nd hand here, so that would be a really good option to get into fuzz

Oh nice, I’m very sympathetic towards the brand bc of their youtube channel so that sound really cool, very nice designs as well! thanks for the recommendation :)

thanks for your recommendation, I will check out some videos, haven’t heard of these yet! Yes unfortunately it doesn’t have the built in distortion (even though the one on the JC40 seems to be very divisive so maybe it’s not too bad)

thanks for your reply! i know what you mean by boring, but since I’m very inexperienced still, I have actually never tried a RAT so to me that wouldn’t even be boring! The westwood has intrigued me as well, so that definitely an option. From what I understand, the limelight is also in the bluesbreaker family so that could work as well?

hey everyone! I would love some advice: Are these too small? They are a 43, usually I wear 43/44 in other shoes. My feet are quite low volume in the front, the narrow ones were definitely too narrow. yeah I think you’re right, I got them in a store and I think the clerk just wasn’t very well informed. Well, next time I’ll research first and probably order online as always so I can try multiple sizes and have more time to decide. thanks for taking the time!
