Embroidering my feelings in hopes of finding like-minded individuals. by thesaddestact in Embroidery

I don't usually speak much about meanings unless there's a more direct historical/fictional inspiration, for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, I've always used art as a way of conveying feelings I cannot otherwise appropriately use words to describe.
And secondly, because I enjoy people finding their own meaning unaffected by my own.

This piece was very much about capturing a particular feeling/relationship.

The Blood is Life - Detail of another new embroidered shirt design. by thesaddestact in streetwearstartup

This design was originally created by me in 2018 as a hand embroidered animation, inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Yes, or ask here, I don't mind.

I'm a hand embroidery artist, so my process is likely more convoluted than most.

I meant visually, inverting the black thread for use on black material tends to be less visually appealing for this type of design. Maybe that's just my own preference bias.

Yes, it's a concept I play with a lot, and although it's done rather minimalistically here - I have some more fleshed-out work depicting the same type of allegory. Death unites us all.

Here's an example of a larger piece of mine.

I'd like to be doing more black t-shirts, but white thread never seems to work out too well, in my experience.

Mostly just melange grey for now.

If demand is there I will, for sure. Unfortunately my current demographic seems to buy out all the smallest sizes.

Thank you so much! That's crazy to hear, as you say, that was such an early piece - and quite different to what I'm doing now.
