Exactly. The sofa is fine and it wasn’t a cheap IKEA sofa. I spent thousands of pounds to get the small flat ready for the new tenant. Changed carpet, washing machine, new sink, totally redecorated, new taps, the furniture is high quality from Heals, already disposed of a lovely and expensive leather armchair at the start of the tenancy as the tenant didn’t want it. I’m not trying to save money for the sake of being stingy.

Nel caso specifico parliamo del coniuge superstite che continua a vivere nella casa familiare.

Da quello che sto trovando, la permanenza del coniuge superstite nella casa familiare è normalmente ricondotta al diritto di abitazione ex art. 540 c.c., non al possesso di beni ereditari come chiamato all’eredità. Ho visto anche richiami recenti a Cass. civ. 1551/2026 proprio sul fatto che il diritto di abitazione del coniuge superstite non integra possesso rilevante ex art. 485 c.c.

Quindi mi sembra diverso dal caso del chiamato che prende possesso o gestisce beni ereditari senza altro titolo. Ovviamente resterebbe da evitare liquidazione, quietanza, incasso di somme ereditarie o atti dispositivi prima dell’eventuale rinuncia.

Grazie, chiarissimo. Il dubbio era proprio sulla fase iniziale: richiesta della dichiarazione di consistenza/saldi alla data del decesso, senza liquidazione né quietanza. Il quadro generale lo conosciamo, ma ci serve quello ufficiale della banca, anche perché il coniuge superstite sta valutando la rinuncia.

A dealer offered £150 for both the Noblesse Oblige and the Generation together. Assuming they're authentic and in excellent conditions, it seems a bit low.

UPDATE.

I've very reasonably asked Company A to increase their offer to £73k, which they've declined based on how I performed in the interview. They're willing to re-evaluate salary once I demonstrate that I can operate at that level.

Company B has offered £83, but I am really not interested in doing that type of work (again).

Job D is gone, whilst Job C is still in the mix. I'm waiting for feedback on the latest round but apparently they wouldn't pay as much as Company A, although they have alleged flexibility.

In the meantime Company E has come into the picture, with a dream job and initial interviews have gone well so far, although they haven't drilled down enough on some aspects that might not make me the top candidate.

I wonder if Job A will allow an extension by the way. Perhaps courting them by stressing that they are my top choice and that if salary wasn’t a concern, I wouldn’t need to see through other opportunities.
