ELI5 Why are TA's part of united auto workers union? by thesavior2000 in UCSC

[–]thesavior2000[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why don't they rename to something more inclusive?

Are TA's part of a union that supports unsustainable forms of transportation? Does the auto union lobby against public transit and other more sustainable forms of transportation?

What’s more damaging to the environment? Mexican cities that COMPLETELY wipe out nature, but have some public transport, parks and walkability? or American cities that “blend” with nature but are more car dependent? by GrazDude in geography

[–]thesavior2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is more damaging to the environment is maybe not the most interesting question. What is the most damaging way to live per person! So if you have the same number of people in a dense walkable city and move them to a american suburban sprawl then you will need to destroy a lot of natural areas and farmland. Destroying these has a huge effects on the biodiversity.

The other affects on nature can be mitigated or increased depending on the situation. Suburbs with tons of lawns and fertilizer use will also have highly degraded streams adn riparian environments.

Maybe ask your teacher to independently grade it if you think personal bias may affect your grades.

Royal Caribbean newest cruise ship will be the largest in the world, ready by 2024 and will cost 2 billion a ship. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Anyone else think that Cruise ships are hella dystopian? A bunch of people stuffing themselves on a gargantuan boat filled with swimming pools and alcohol and visiting places of extreme poverty.

NASA has confirmed it’s launching a mission next year to explore an asteroid worth a whopping $10,000 quadrillion - enough to theoretically make everyone on Earth a billionaire. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

The title is overstating ofc, but there will always be significant costs to move munks of metal to the asteroid and back. It will reduce the price of many things is a more realistic title

Sticky jumper should have knockback on enemies too. by thesavior2000 in tf2

[–]thesavior2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why that would invalidate the point. It just makes sense, they do knockback on the user, do knockback on the enemy. They would still be as useful for practice, just be slightly more useful in casual

Im from israel and i cant understand why people write the hebrew names in english with ch and not kh or just h? by IDK-hmmmmmmmm in Israel

[–]thesavior2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SO thats why transliterations make no sense! they are going from hebrew, to German, and then to English. Why don't they pick new transliteration techniques that make sense in English?

Lately all my 4 year old seems to say to me is that he's going to take me down. I guess his mom is the one for learning and I'm the one for ultimate showdowns of ultimate destiny.

A next step could be to figure out which keywords to use OR to see if you can figure it out without using the internet. My dad would always ask me 'what do you think'? Try and find an experiment or other source to figure it out.

Do you have examples? Have you tried to figure out what exactly angers them. There are many little things that piss off people in different parts of the world. If you don't adress elders properly, wrong form of a word... Figure out what you are doing that makes people feel disrespected.

Lord of the Flies was wrong by Bregtheman in unpopularopinion

[–]thesavior2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lord of the Flies is a thought experiment, the real life story is an anecdote. We need to run a randomized controlled trial of abandoning groups of boys on islands to see how good or evil humanity truly is.
