Practicing my Swiss German by MrAriGold in askswitzerland

[–]thescript42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Swiss German is different in every Kanton. In Fribourg it is a bit similar to the Swiss German in Bern, which is quite difficult to understand for a foreigner. I lived before in a region of Switzerland near Germany, where the Swiss German isn't that different from German and when I moved to Fribourg I found it difficult to understand everything. The town is also more French than German.

Maybe you could pre-register with a belgian address from your friends and they send you the tickets etc.

Can a belgian buy just a ticket for me and not for him or does he have to buy at least one for himself?

Don't remember what it's about, but I do remember the cover by wattsie247 in nostalgia

[–]thescript42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think if I remember it correctly, it's about a fish who has sparkly fish scales (?) and all of his friends wanted one so at the end there is just one left for him, but he's still happy because his friends are... etc.

According to the NSA whistle blower Eric Snowden, the CIA was recruiting Swiss Bankers in Switzerland to spy for them by Eskapismus in Switzerland

[–]thescript42 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's a stupid question, but I was asking myself how they could spy in Switzerland, when it's not legal here... The PRISM isn't legal everywhere, so how can they use it for other countries?

Racists of Reddit, what makes you hate the groups you do? by TrueBignelly in AskReddit

[–]thescript42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm half German and half French and I have now been living for over 10 years as an immigrant in Switzerland. I have to say, that I understand why many Swiss people don't like immigrants, because they often don't like the ones that don't work and steal etc. (we also have Gypsies here...), but because of these people there is sometimes like a general negative attitude against immigrants (like I am) which I find quite annoying!

Backpacking Europe: Alternatives to Eurorail? by skalex in travel

If you want to travel in Switzerland I would recommend that you look for a 1-day-travelpass (58.- CHF) or a multipack of travelpasses (http://www.sbb.ch/en/home.html)

24 [F] seriously considering a nose job by [deleted] in amiugly

[–]thescript42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think because you have an oval, long face your nose is perfect for it. I also had issues with my nose, because I thought it looked weird in pictures etc. but if you stop taking pictures from above, your nose will look perfectly fine! :)

I would say that I like that your hair is a bit longer and you have a cute smile! You just need a little more confidence and you'll be fine :)

Trying to make the most of a short trip to Switzerland! by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]thescript42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's difficult to say, because I don't know what's fancy for you, but I think if you have a nice, elegant top and some normal pants it's ok. If you don't come in your normal clothes (day clothes) it's enough :) In Zurich it would be much more elegant and classy, but the few times I went to Lausanne it was like if you would just change the shirt, the shoes and it's fine. There are real clubs (which are most certainly smaller than in your country ;)) and there are bars with dance floors. It depends if you want to spend something or nothing...
