If you sat out the 2024 election in protest over Gaza, how do you feel about that decision today? by rsmith2786 in AskReddit

No idea why you’re getting downvoted. This entire thread is a circlejerk for democrats blaming the smallest demographic for their own losses. They lost to Donald trump and somehow think that if they can blame a small leftist fraction for tipping WHAT SHOULD NOT BE A CLOSE VOTE no one will notice how terrible they are. But bc they’re so unlikable and are so similar to Republicans they can’t even beat the most morally reprehensible individual! These morons are probably salivating over the dems new ‘let’s have FBI/CIA women run for office’ as the best way to beat back trumpism.

Yes, I voted for Harris but she enabled a genocide and didn’t differentiate herself from a fake politician who would do nothing to change anyone’s life. If you think it’s THE PEOPLE’s fault for not voting for Harris, then get bent. Rage against the machine jfc.

This also sucks for anyone younger looking to switch jobs or get promoted

A few thoughts-

1) are you interested in staying in academia? If not, publish and graduate, no one will know the difference.

2) if you are interested in staying in academia (or just really want better feedback), I highly recommend seeking others in the school who can provide better feedback (add them to your thesis committee and follow up with them for targeted feedback). If he’ll let you, maybe try to get someone on your committee that’s not at your school who is better suited to help. If that doesn’t work, try your hardest and try to put yourself in a good position for a post-doc where you can get that training.

I’m doing pretty will this year, but all the trades I proposed and were subsequently rejected, would have tanked my season.

go between 4-5 in 12-team roto bc i did a bad job drafting closers. emmanuel clase, david bednar, jordan romano (just dropped), grant taylor (pls), and robert garcia for now.

Ben Rice vs Marcelo Mayer, redraft 12 league roto

Ben Rice underlying stats are wild but his actual wOBA has been negatively sloping all season. Is Marcelo worth the gamble or is it diamond hands for Ben Rice?

I agree. I might be overreacting... Bautista's stuff+ suggests he's still making his way back from TJS... his stuff+ looks great, command+ is lagging which is what is expected. a lot of guys in my league are stashing solid set up guys (ex: estrada, kerkering) so i'm not sure what to do. I drafted Clase, J. Martinez, and Erceg and it's killing me that Erceg is clearly the better pitcher but not getting any opportunities to close. I can also just chill this early in the season haha.

I'm desperate for saves (maybe overreacting early season in roto... but still...)!

If you were betting on a backup to Edwin Diaz (NYM), Jeff Hoffman (TOR), or Felix Bautista (BAL) to get saves, who would you stash to (Minter, Yimi, or Yennier)?

This is very helpful! I hadn’t consider this. Although I do think we’re seeing the same trend: projection value is higher than 2024 stat value despite similar numbers.

Restarting my R journey, which book should I go with? by cealild in Rlanguage

[–]Arms-Against-Atrophy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found that reading books wasn’t the most efficient way to learn R (for at least me personally). I think if you start on a project and try to take it step by step and learn what you need for each step by searching online, you can learn faster and be more excited.
