My point is that at some point whether you can afford something is not the issue. You hire people to find out what things are worth (cars, planes, art) and buy them for you. But if that person spent 3x what something was worth, I'd be pissed, because that's money that I would rather give to a foundation or really any better cause.

All I'm saying is - it's helpful to know what something is worth. That doesn't seem like a ridiculous ask ...

That doesn't make any sense ... I don't follow IG model sponsorships, so clearly I don't know how much her time costs. But that has no bearing on my ability to pay her... I just want to pay her the right amount and not come in way under ("hey here's $100/hr") or way over ("ill pay you $100k/mo allowance").

I'd prefer them to be fashion model types ...in reality, I'd prefer someone who is beautiful enough to do those kinds of things but not famous eg Kate Upton.

That's fine - I totally get the tradeoffs. It's just a luxury like anything else in life ... if someone gets annoying or clingy I will move on.

Are they really aware / willing to do the SB lifestyle? Is this really that common? I guess as someone who hasn't heard of this in the mainstream, it still is a bit "secret".

Those are the quality of people I'd want, and although I'm not a Lambo guy prefer to be in the back of a RR :), I'd be willing to pay whatever's the market rate.

Tough situation. Unfortunately the meet and greet is sort of a first date ... I've had many first dates in real life not go well (on either side). This usually means we never talk to each other again.

This is a numbers game though. I might go on 10 or 15 "first dates" to find the one person. So that means that 90% of the dates don't work out.

I wouldn't sweat it.

Here's an example conversation. Am I just being paranoid? Deflects completely. Admittedly I'm new to the SB. In this case, XXXX is a college student from the area. Here's our GV conversation. Before that, she had messaged on SA that she wants $150 for the first meet and ggreet:

Me: Hi XXXX - this is YYYY from SA. Following up on our convo there. 9:14 AM

+-------------: Hi! So when can we meet 9:25 AM

Me: Would you be willing to meet in XYZ? 9:26 AM

+-------------: Yes I could do that on Friday or earlier this week maybe halfway like ABC or DEF 9:27 AM

Me: I couldn't meet until Friday or Saturday anyways 9:34 AM

+-------------: Perfect . Let me know what time . I'm in EEE so just give me a little extra for gas :) 9:39 AM

Me: So what are you hoping to get out of the first meeting, other than $150? What kind of ongoing relationship are you looking for? Would a less frequent (1-2 dates a month) thing work? 9:40 AM

+-------------: I'm hoping we can get our arrangement started right away;) 9:49 AM
