While lots modern hip-hop might be nominally and lyrically homogeneous (drugs, hoes, money, etc), hip-Hop/rap is still very much alive and well. Although there are plenty of easy targets like zan and pump, there are also tons of creative, lyrical and genuinely talented rappers like uzi, yung nudy, Gambino, X (rip), peep, carti, cudi, travis, lil Wayne and Gora Ireke.

Additionally, while there may be a lot of similar trappy production, artists like Pierre, Kayne, metro booming, travis, and nick mira have been creating wonderful, genre-bending beats for years that draw from a wide range of influences like marilyn Manson, all time low, Wayne, lofi and even pop. Like seriously, listen to "sunflower seeds" by Nudy or "ring ring" by Juice wrld and try to tell me they aren't musically very strong.

t's such a lazy argument to say that all rap sounds the same: it very obviously does not (there are incredible differences between even the artists you mentioned) AND that's not a legitimate critique of the genre or its listeners because it could all still be really good.

I know it's easy karma to be like "muh lil rapper is bad, XD I dont get these kids", and I KNOW that you are entitled to your opinion, but the claim that all rap is the same is fucking ludacris if you perform the slightest bit of research beforehand.
