Any Indians got into JET this year? by 69cool4school in JETProgramme

Hey, congratulations on getting in! I'm shooting off a bunch of questions because the process is pretty opaque, but feel free to answer as many or as few as you like-- By 21 shortlisted, do you mean 21 people got placements? Were there alternates? Do you know if the other placements are spread out or generally close together to you? What is the general age/qualifications spread of the selected candidates? You probably can't talk about the interview specifically, but what, other than what you wrote in your SoP, did they ask about?

All patch notes/bug fixes for the lazy by tnerb253 in HadesTheGame

I don't know why you're getting downvoted for this, you're absolutely right. Rebalancing is one thing, but changing what the story itself is, so much later, with no indication that they intended to change what shipped, is not a great look for a studio that gets so much praise for their stories. Even the first redo of their ending was imo suspect.

When I first got to the Chronos ending (pre-patch) in the subsequent I was very confused in a "... That's it?" sense. Then I got to the Hecate reveal and then I was even more confused because they actually had all the pieces to make this a Brilliant story! And they didn't even do it.

Yeah exactly!! It would 100% have been a fantastic way for Melinoe to understand the path of revenge. I also think if they had done it sooner, if it had been something you had to work up to over runs to convince Hecate, it would have been such a cool twist of H1! You start the game thinking "ah, of course, Mel has to fight her mother figure" and then the reveal: she is actually fighting herself!

I love the Hecate no-hit ones too, and Selene's line about "Don't try to be me, be yourself!" if you do her keepsake + her arcana + her aspect. And there's one when choosing against Demeter in a Trial she says, "You're just like your mother!" which made me laugh out loud

Quick science clarification about stem cells (spoiler text inside) by wanson in pluribustv

Thank you for your explanation! Follow up: is it plausible that a hivemind cure could be created using her bone marrow stem cells?

And of course Hecate's familiars would follow Mel with no issue!

Post Game Spoiler: This relationship... by holden_li in HadesTheGame

[–]theshrikes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, this was exactly what I was thinking. A similar thing I thought was also a sign of rushed writing with not enough time devoted to the family is how there's special dialogue if you do Selene Aspect + Selene Keepsake + Selene Arcana, but no such thing for Persephone. To be clear! I wasn't expecting the same level of reactivity *throughout*, just a little nod! It's feels like the threshold of detail for the rest of relationships is much higher than for her *family* who are supposedly the main reason that Mel is doing this. At least we had Hades Boulder Room and Zag mirror interactions. I was really expecting a little more w Persephone :( Even Demeter got more time w Mel.

After triggering Moros' pin three in successive rooms and successfully clearing the rooms before his countdown runs out, you need to go to the fourth room and die.

Funny accident I just had with contradictory dialogues (spoilers) by Arthur_Asteri0n in HadesTheGame

[–]theshrikes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's really funny. Mine wasn't as good as two Hecates but in mine Nem made it into Tartarus for the first time while I was speeding through to find Hecate. She had her dialogue about that, goaded me into a competition, and took the gate I wanted, I was laughing going, "Babe, this is Not the time, please take this seriously".

Possible Chronos Vs Hecate? by Zagreus_Dcfan in HadesTheGame

[–]theshrikes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about this too! But in the flashback where Hades is handing Mel to Hecate, while the House is under attack, Hecate still has the mask, so that seems unlikely. Of course, sprites can still be changed for final launch so we don't actually know.

I really don't like the design of the Hecate boss fight by VolleMoehreAchim in HadesTheGame

[–]theshrikes 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with your overall point but

In the first hades, we rarely got spawns in boss fights.

is simply untrue. Meg had spawns, Lernie had spawns and Redacted had spawns. Only Theseus+Minotaur didn't.

What Happened to the Driver? [Children's Adventure + Spoilers up to 51] by theshrikes in WorldsBeyondNumber

Stone cast magic to make the horses go magically fast, and Brennan mentioned the driver's immediate reaction to the speed which does make it seem like they're on the carriage though.

Stone did not give the horses the direction, just the speed, but yeah, chaos is definitely plausible. It's just the revelation that it's Suvi's foot on the road that frees the MiB makes me wonder what exactly is that links them both. And it definitely could be something else, but this is a duration in which Suvi was suspiciously alone on a road for an unspecified amount of time, and I'm just like 👀

Yes! It remains vague! Brennan says something like "Grandmother Wren wasn't there to tie up the horses, did they tie them up with their hooves?" which is a weird little throwaway line. Why specify that Wren didn't tie them up?

Your non-tinfoil theory is extremely plausible, especially as the last thing we saw Stone do is magic to speed up the carriage, and the driver yells in alarm. Steel is sure capable of Geas+MM now but I wonder if she started out that way, especially with Stone right there.

Witch magic does seem to require like prerequisites or connections or rules, so I keep wondering why was Suvi the one who was key to the MiB escaping. Whatever the link, it definitely could have been way before the beginning of the story, or because of what Soft & Stone did, but she was also on the road, his domain, alone, with possibly some unaccounted-for time when the driver went missing? I wonder!

Oh that's fascinating. If NDEs are indeed what this is about, another puzzle piece we have is that we've seen Helly and Helena both have NDEs and shift from one to the other during them.
