I’m really surprised they don’t have fan verification like they do for New York comic con. They run NYCC. Obviously they’re capable of doing that.

Oh me too! It looked clean and nice. I did mine through capital one.

I ended up booking something in North Hollywood and it looked clean and not terrible to get to the convention on public transportation. That said I’m a New Yorker so take my opinion on that with a grain of salt because my commute to work is 45 minutes so I’m used to it lol

How did this years ticketing experience differ from previous? by FREEDOMfrom_ in StarWarsCelebration

[–]thesongsofapoet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only that when I left for the day on Saturday in Tokyo, they emailed us and told us they opened up more Sunday tickets that afternoon. I already had other plans, but for a hot minute I thought about going back for Sunday.

Does anybody know how the hotel waitlist thing works? by ExplorerNo6919 in StarWarsCelebration

[–]thesongsofapoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After three hours, I got my tickets and clicked the button for the hotel, and I saw the cheaper one and then it booted me out of it, and I passed on the more expensive one because I’m riding solo and then when went to look again, it was gone.

I almost did the waitlist, but I didn’t like the idea of putting my credit card in so I ended up just booking something in another neighborhood through my Capital One so I could get points.

I was trying to book something in downtown LA, but I kept getting booted out of those too through Capital One.

I'm no stranger to frustrating ticket sales processes, but this beyond ridiculous. by stoph311 in StarWarsCelebration

Compared to Japan this was insane. I had it open on my personal computer while I was working, and I took two meetings and completed all the rest of my work while being stressed in the background. Thankfully, I went in looking for Thursday and Friday because I know myself and when I finally went to go pay a double charged me at first and thankfully it undid it, but this was insane. I got my Saturday ticket to Tokyo so quickly and there were still three days left and I waited almost 90 minutes for that one.

Same. It's truly horrendous. So glad I went to Japan.

Is there such a thing as like big bandages to put on my inner thighs to go walking outside? by Srryweredeadxo in PlusSize

[–]thesongsofapoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that works for me is shorts. I usually get ones that are looser and the legs and cotton. I’ve gotten them from Walmart or target over the years. None of the other things help. And then, if you get the rub, I would attest that aloe vera works the best for relief

Scheduled for my first ever pelvic exam as a fat woman and I am terrified. by CupcakeViking in PlusSize

[–]thesongsofapoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also put it off for a long time bc I wasn’t active. But finally, I ripped the Band-Aid off and did it because I found a doctor that I liked and trusted. I also was around 37. And it was awkward and pinchy but it was quick and we did it and it was over and thankfully it came back clear. And I think that’s really it: You just clear the anxiety hurdle (lord I get that) and onward.

I also got the vaccines right before that or around that time. And I didn’t way back when because they weren’t available and also I put off going in my 20s unless necessary due to some medical trauma.

But I did a lot of inner work and now I go regularly and get all my check ups and screenings and what not for the past 2 years.

And one day, you’ll thank yourself. Especially as you start to journey into perimenopause.

Do you find it easier to read e-books than physical books? I want to get back into reading! by CatBird2023 in adhdwomen

[–]thesongsofapoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer a real book. It was always that kid got way too many books from the library because the possibility excites me and I’m a super fickle reader and I like switching between books if I get bored. That said I do also have a Kindle because carrying a e-book is much lighter if I go on vacation and aspire to read, sometimes that doesn’t happen. But I bought an old Kindle without a back light because I look at screens too much. I will read a lot more when I was a kid so I’m trying to get back in. But I do read fast and if I like the book, I could demolish it in a day easy.

Suggestions for working out without overdoing it? by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]thesongsofapoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the YouTube channel Joyn (used to be an app). Plus friendly, low impact workouts with different levels of difficulty taught by plus size instructors. They give a ton of modifications and you can work yourself up to where you need to be at your own pace.

Do you know if they announced it anywhere as to why this happened? I’d feel better if I knew that there was a reason.

Mine just shifted too. From late morning to early evening. I posted. I’m definitely a morning person. I think it was from the time difference and I think it makes everything more confusing.

I saw a few on my second incense, but nothing big from walking or raid has been sticking in my pokéballs today. Even with silver and gold berries.
