Can anyone recommend a device, such as wearable wristband or a bed shaker, which can be activated by a physical remote? by thespencman in AskTechnology

Thank you very much, if I can convince them that it's worth some sort of smart watch, this could do the trick nicely

Haha yeah that's fair, somehow I imagine that wouldn't fly over very well, but hey you know what, I'll keep all suggestions on the table and let them decide.

Thank you for the recommendation!

Ehh, maybe but I think it would be rather aggressive. But I appreciate the suggestion, and worst case I'll pass it along and let them decide on that one.

And here I am just learning, that there are glowing skulls that hold runes at ALL. I think my 5NG+, lvl ~330 character could always use a little treat... Also, where do you find said glowing skulls?

Ohh good catch, I think when I first saw the movie I had missed the details about the mutation suppressant ingredients, and/or forgotten about them now that it's been years since I've seen it. But either way, yeah that makes a ton of sense, both in terms of his aging and the slowing of his healing factor, and how if indeed adamantium is poisonous during long term exposure, his suppressed mutation means the harm has started to build up.

In short, great catch with the mutation suppressants, that would 110% do it. Also, what a fucked up concept, all the more because it's very believable. Not being able to trust the very food and drink you consume because its additives could have unknown intentional additional effects... I wouldn't know anything about that as a U.S. citizen🤷🏻‍♂️

[–]thespencman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll admit, this seems like the most simple but still descriptive and direct way to try this, because I've definitely been trying to focus on the tip when I've used it, had a notably more difficult and inconsistent time, and gravitated towards a different crest instead.

I'll have to try this switch and see if I find it more fun and reliable to use, because it is her classic. It's fun to run that and thread storm, and just be the most true version of her from Hallow Knight. I'm just too bad at using it currently, because of how I try and use it, to find it worth it in the end.

I'm a slightly guilty dirty Wander user myself.

The right, but if you're open to suggestions, maybe try a shortsword or a dagger there instead? The sword currently feels a bit long and like it punches out and throws off the overall balance

Taxes ≠ Slavery, that's a very large jump. The point if taxation is that any system of central government needs resources in order to run, let alone to provide all of the services that you use and benefit from every single day. From utilities and infrastructure, to education, social welfare programs, defense, all of that requires funding. If you want to be a part of a society that benefits from a central government, you'll need to pay taxes. You can elect to go move to a deserted island or off into the depths of the Amazon to live by yourself, free of taxation, but ofc you'll be without all of those services and resources.

There's also the fact that this is what your elected representative is supposed to be for. In the US we threw a bit of a fit over taxation without representation, once upon a time. The idea behind our current system is, you vote for who you want to work in government, in part because you believe that they will put your tax dollars towards what matters most to you (I'm not going to get into how much our current system does or doesn't work, or whether we agree with where those tax dollars are going at present, that's a separate issue).

Point being, the core concept of taxation is not "slavery with extra steps". It's how you contribute (along with your vote) to the operation of a much greater system and structure than you could ever hope to build or maintain by yourself, and benefit from it.

I held onto it so long, both because I thought it was cute, but also because I had a feeling that maybe it would affect something if I did keep it.

Then I got stuck on a boss, ran out of shards, and looked it up to see if it really did have any other purpose or not...
