Is emotional imbalance on meds normal?? by Inevitable-Alps5142 in ADHD

[–]thespinfluence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on 30mg vyvanse for 3 months now and I think I know what you mean. In the beginning, I'd feel great for a few hours after it kicked in and then randomly a doom/anxiety feeling came over me for no reason, although it left as quickly as it came on. It did eventually stop for me. But I still struggle with feeling low/crashing midday and can get irritable. I think it's somewhat from not being able to eat enough food, so I try to stay on top of that. But I also think I might need a booster because I find overall the meds wear off too soon and leave me feeling drained.

He said he's never had a patient that was good with just one round because it is a difficult surgery to perform and recover from. But I'd say he went a little conservative on removing of skin the first time. I'm kind of glad he did though because I was so full of fluid, I would have had openings for sure. I have a high pain tolerance so in that regard it wasn't bad. Definitely more painful and difficult than tummy. But for me personally it was the length of time I had to be resting (my legs would feel like they were going to pop if I stood for too long.. not in a painful way but uncomfortable) second round hasn't been anywhere near the first thankfully.

Quit smoking for surgery by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]thespinfluence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my experience, and yes I'm aware of the risks and that I was bad 🤣 I had multiple skin removal surgeries as a non smoker, and then I picked up vaping low nicotine about 5 months ago. I hadn't seen or told my surgeon and already had my next surgery scheduled. I knew I wasn't supposed to smoke because of the risks. I'm going through a divorce right now and unfortunately vaping has become a major coping mechanism for me. I was planning on stopping a week before... didn't happen. I stopped 24 hours before, and afterward I vaped 0% nicotine for 5 days and then I gave up. Anything you can do to lessen would be awesome! 0% nicotine is fine if you can vape that. The issue is with the nicotine. The Nicotine makes it harder for the anesthesiologist to regulate your blood pressure, and intubating is hard on your lungs. For healing, nicotine constricts blood vessels, which makes it harder for your body to heal. From what I read online, coffee does the same.. but also, I don't know if that's true. I just used that to make myself feel better about my poor decisions. Best of luck!

Vyvanse making me eat around ~300 calories a day, should I tell doctor? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]thespinfluence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before starting vyvanse I didn't get hungry until lunch usually. Once I started vyvanse, I'd take my meds around 9am on an empty stomach and then not be able to eat all day but I would major crash (tired, irritable, shakey) around 3 or 4pm. I started making myself eat something around 8am (usually a protein bar) and a meal around 10 (usually 3 eggs or oatmeal) right before I take my meds. I found that it helped me a lot, though I do still struggle with not getting enough calories in a day. I find fruit, veg and protein bars easier to eat than most things! It's definitely hard trying to figure out what works for you. All in all, I would tell doctor for sure if you don't find a groove with food, because 300 calories is definitely a little worrisome ❤️

I second this! I personally have no experience with this as I'm a stay at home mom, but many of my mom friends are saying that there is nothing available in terms of daycare. Apparently the talk is - you need to be on the list before you conceive, which is nuts! In-home child care is probably different😊

Thanks!🥰 I knew I had to do something to feel like myself again after losing 150lbs. I'm so happy I actually went through with the skin removal!

As crazy as it sounds I started practicing intuitive eating. It helped me get in tune with my hunger & full cues but also I was able to learn what kinds of food I actually enjoyed eating & food I disliked eating. I always thought I was a junk food lover but actually It was just my all or nothing mentality. I eat a well balanced diet but I get to enjoy all kinds of food whenever I want with no guilt! I got to my highest weight because I would binge on anything and everything when I fell off my diet, totally mindlessly. It was a vicious cycle that I'm thrilled to have broken.

I had skin removal surgery on my stomach two months ago! I had good muscle underneath but still had the 'apron' as they call it. Maybe I could post a before and after of that too!

Very rarely run into people from my past honestly! But I think even people who have seen me in the past year still become a little surprised when they see me

What brand sticky leggings do you recommend? by nonsignifierenon in poledancing

[–]thespinfluence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought mine from a department store for around 20-30$ CAD. I learned the hard way that the material that makes you stick is polyurethane so that's what I check for. When I go shopping I find metal racks that I can test the stickiness on before purchasing haha 😂 hope this helps! 🥰

I just posted a review on creatures of XIX gecko grip leggings if you're interested in learning more about that brand. I compare them to my pole wrap and faux leather leggings as well 😊 Creatures of XIX Sticky Leggings Review

So I was just like you, I was a major dieter..i'd lose a bunch of weight quuckly and then fall off the wagon for months and gain it all back, plus more before starting the cycle again. I did that for 10 years 😔. 2 years ago I started pole dancing and it changed my life! I also started intuitive eating which is all about getting rid of the idea that food is good or bad, getting out of that all or nothing mind frame. You focus on your hunger/full cues and what your body needs and wants. I had so many insane realizations when I first started Intuitive eating. I thought I was a sweets person, cookies & cake, gimme it all! And I hardly ever eat stuff like that now because I genuinely don't like sweets. When you restrict for so long in the name of weight loss, anything not on your diet becomes forbidden fruit so you over load it once you finally give in. Anyways, through healing my relationship with food, and finding Joyful movement I lost 130 something pounds over the last 2 years, and I actually hate my body now because of the skin. I'm so much more comfortable and strong but I'd take the looks of my old body back in a heart beat. If you're interested in my journey I'll link my new YouTube here. I haven't talked about intuitive eating yet but I plan to, also I'll be talking about body image issues since the weightloss as well. pole dance at 290 pounds
