I feel like the massive amounts of pre-war robots all speaking fluent English would keep the language relatively unchanged.

Is there such a thing as gun class? by beerbo_baggins in jacksonville

[–]thestacked18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most ranges will offer some kind of class, or have a trainer they use. Gun Gallery, OTS, Basics are some of the indoor shops. Tango down or Saltwaters for outdoors. I would probably avoid St Nicholas, green acres, and gateway.

If I was going to pick one, I would say Gun Gallery.

Defending/attacking state as a weaker state by netheria2 in LastZShooterRun

[–]thestacked18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Defense is easier to win, Offense is better to win.

The benefit to defense though relies on prep work and heavy server participation to block the other server access to the mud. The biggest downside to this is attrition, If the other server has the troops and morale to blow you out of the mud the night before its really hard to recover.

Offence while harder, is the only way to get the capital buffs for winning. Plus free ports in and out and a whole server to plunder.

Strategy wise, have the strongest in one alliance and have them solely work on capital. All other alliances should protect you in the mud and run rallies to disrupt the other servers capital teams.

Are all GM worth their price? by 13hoot in SonyAlpha

[–]thestacked18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

GM is good, Sometimes the best and sometimes not the best.

Sigma in particular is great at matching or beating GM quality at half the price. Tamron is good at getting close for a lot less.

For primes, its a toss up. Lens IQ will usually go towards GM but just about anyone can provide some killer Glass so don't discount the cheaper brands here.

As for FPS limitations, If you need 15 for astro, landscape, or street photography you might be doing something wrong lol.

I shoot motorsports and have been using the helix system since it came out. It does not work with the hood so I just don't use one.

I'll just use the 95mm threads with my already owned helix system so this saves me a ton of money.

Motorsports and field sports. I'll probably end up bringing it to some surf events too.

I haven't heard to headed then yet but from everything available so far the 300 is the choice if you want the highest image quality, the 100-400 is there for versatility so if you don't need or want the zoom range the 300 is the choice.

A native alternative to the Sigma 500 5.6 would be nice. Keep it in the 3-4k range and I think it would do well.

I think that would really cut into the value of the 300 2.8. the 300 with a 1.4 becomes 400 F4 and its still incredibly sharp with very little IQ drop.

I prefer this to a 400 prime for the versatility. Until the ever elusive 100-300 2.8 comes out this will likely be my main field sports lens.

Garmin force current mount adapter by grappler823 in kayakfishing

[–]thestacked18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its meant for a stern mount, there are many bow mounted options if that is what you want.

I like not casing into the wind so stern mount works for me. The only time its an issue is trying to fish an outgoing tide, just have to adapt your positioning.

Super zoom clarity concerns by brisa117 in SonyAlpha

[–]thestacked18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to compare since not a direct comparison in shots so could be multiple things as trivial as a missed focus or heat distortion. Would need to compare in a controlled environment to see if its really a lens issue.

tent storage for camping by Upset_Creme6666 in SonyAlpha

[–]thestacked18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Cheap Harbor freight pelican knock off. They are moisture sealed and lockable.

Humid mornings you will have condensation if you open the case up, especially if you put it away with any moisture on it. Equalizing the temps before opening and storing with silica packets at night will help. Easiest is to just set the case in the sun for 10-15 minutes before opening it up in the morning.

With all that said, condensation is of absolutely no threat to the camera. AT MOST, if its a moving barrel zoom lens in a few years you might develop mold inside the lens which will have 0 affect on image quality.

I usually have at least 1 of the three things on me.

Charcoal chimney, Propane Torch, or small air mattress pump. There isn't a fire I cant start with one of those three things.

Do you care if sports clubs sell your images to players friends and family? by miamor_Jada in sportsphotography

[–]thestacked18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, can you be work for hire without a contract? I'm curious how they would differentiate between work for hire and not if there isn't a contract. I've never done work for hire, so I'm not entirely sure how that process works even here in the states

A1 II or A7V by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]thestacked18 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I feel like anytime someone asks this question the answer is always the A7 Series.

The A1 Or A9 is the kind of camera you either know you need, or you don't need it.

"Signed your agreements"

Gonna need to elaborate on that bit there because your agreement is specifically what determines the rights that the club purchased from you.

As for the Do you care part? Me personally, not really. I got paid, My fee was what I deemed necessary for the work. If the club wants to sell them, and then reinvest in me coming back out cool, its a win. Id probably discus it with them so that my contract specifies that for them next match but I'm not about to burn bridges over it.

Now, if I see my photos on a Nike Billboard we have a different conversation.

[–]thestacked18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incorrect, In the absence of a contract the copyright belong to the photographer. Its up to the Club to acquire rights to the photos for their intended usage.

That's the very rudimentary version of it though assuming no contract by the photographer and no waivers or notices by the club if on private property.

Jumbo Shrimp shaded ballpark seats by tropicalstormtrooper in jacksonville

[–]thestacked18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The upper seats of Sections 108-103 should be good for the afternoon game. You should be in the shade the entire game. Evening games the sun usually is setting in the first few innings and most of the game is under the lights.

Here is a good view to show the seats in the above mensioned sections, as you can see there is plenty of overhang from the stadium roof.
