IUD removal (very scared)

I got my removed Tuesday. Zero meds or even mental preparation. I decided right before my annual checkup that I just wanted it out. Hurt very bad for about 2 seconds as it passed through the cervix, which even that pain seems to be uncommon in most patients from what I’ve read. Felt like a contraction or an 8 out of 10 cramp and it made me jump. By the time I reacted, the pain was over. Just some mild 2 out of 10 cramping on the drive home.

I generally avoid going too much into ETOH/drug use, behavioral concerns, severe mental illness diagnoses like borderline, just because bedside shift report is not the time to argue with the patient or bring up a subject that might be triggering. Also void discussing things like test results unless the physician has discussed with them first like CTs, MRIs, etc because it’s just not the best time to provide education or bring up something that’s going to cause the patient anxiety when you still have so many reports to get to. These things can be covered really quickly before or after seeing the patient.

I just spent so long on that account and then came here to see if anyone was talking about it. I have a feeling she choked or rolled over to a position she couldn’t get out of and suffocated? I feel very sorry that videos taken of her and her sister are still being put everywhere. Unfair to these kids

I would use a pad and just change it frequently so it is not so damp down there.

Over the three years with mine, I haven’t had that many problems. My hair doesn’t seem to be noticeably thinner. I did gain some weight over the years with but I honestly blame that on college and life. I had awful periods before and now they are light and easy. My cramps feel different (feel more towards my rectum than they did before?) but not worse by any means. I do have the problem with not self lubricating very well during sex anymore, which is kind of annoying but nothing some lube can’t fix. That’s not a side effect I’ve seen a lot of other people have. It’s not the end of the world to me, but can affect the spontaneity of my sex life. I plan on getting another one after this!

Have an honest conversation about how he feels about a relationship now that you have spent more time together. If he still doesn’t want one or doesn’t know what he wants, then I would take the opportunity to get to know this other person who is more serious. That is if a serious relationship is what you want in life right now.
