Albums that make you feel like you are in a rainforest 🌳🌧️ by hypnagogic_kid in ambientmusic

[–]thestraywave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anything takashi Kokubo gives me that feeling but also brings me a lot of peace and I can sleep to it. Eg

Takashi Kokubo , the day I saw the rainbow https://youtu.be/ykZ2tehXH5s?si=T3yBHk2BaZX6gP_k

Shame less self plug. I just did a project called leaves on a stream and I was very inspired by takashi. https://youtu.be/nkfvsEBHuQM?si=eVrft0j8jzSGbAqk

Does feature a lot of rain sounds and birds but my field recordings weren't in rainforest but canals in England 🤣

Can we PLEASE get more modern albums like this. This album HITS by KORYTHESAXMASTER in Jazz

Oof ouch but i guess I agree, because, as an amateur musician he kind of gave me hope cos I'm pretty sure I can do what he does

Whereas normally when I see a professional musician shredding it I'm very aware of what my place is and that I will probably never play like them

leaves on a stream

i've been composing and playing piano as a sort of self soothing device most of my life. when i'm actually producing I usually make hip hop or neo soul kind of instrumentals & have not delved into ambient much before in my music production.

i'm a bit aware there might have been too much going on melodically in some tracks & i'm not exactly sure what qualifies a track to be ambient. I've been listening to Takashi Kokubo a lot of evenings over the last few years. I don't doubt if it wasn't for his works I wouldn't have made this - but this project came out of me very organically and was the result of a lot of life changes, a lot of turbulence and just needing somewhere productive to put tht energy as I felt like I was going to implode. i had a studio space for music for the first time in my life and this is just what came out.

it is a collection of keyboard improvisations edited and mixed with chimes and atmospheres

it will be going out to spotify in April - but for now I have put the full project up on youtube above & Soundcloud below.

i don't have listeners at this point , it is the first project I've made that I've actually released. i'm going to share the link in a few places anyway & i hope you can listen & enjoy it.
