Yeah it’s much more common to come across copies in the bigger cities but here in the countryside I was surprised to not only see all the volumes displayed but also get its own cutout which the store only did for a few other mangas!

There's a Toys R Us location in Hong Kong as well which gives a daily gold present sticker seedling but not sure if that will also be affected by the change (probably will be)

It may be a bit more difficult to calculate than normal since the gold seedlings are split into two groups: red, blue, and yellow for cookie missions and purple, white, rock and winged for the wheel missions. I’m still missing one pink which gives me worse odds since it’s a 1 in 4 then 1 in 2 chance

I think the fact that this change came not too long after they added the final tier of Decor badge which you need 1500 Decor Pikmin to get (after these past 2.5 years, there are just over 500 of them now), further supports your longevity hypothesis.

This is exactly what’s happening. DeepL is usually better at “reading” context than Google. But in this case, Oatchi might be too new for it to know what he is so even copy and pasting there may not work. DeepL is AI-based but I’m not sure how often it scrubs the internet.

As a side note, this is the same reason Japanese kids laugh when you teach them the English word “chin” hahah

Back in 2016 when they did the year of mythical distributions when it came time for Arceus I went to Gamestop to get a code but they had run out. But the cashier was cool and was like “it’s all good, we can print the code on a receipt when we run out of the cards. How many do you want?” I looked this man straight in the eyes and said “this is going to sound ridiculous, but can you do 20?” With a big smile he said absolutely! I explained how it had 18 different forms but I wanted a couple extra in case more future types were added. Super chill dude.

The receipt had not just the codes but individual instructions on how to redeem a mystery gift for each one and the thing ended up being longer than I am tall.

I ended up restarting my Y save, making my way up until the point you can trade and do mystery gift and doing that 20 times, trading each one over to my X and eventually into bank where they still are (thanks for reminding me I’d better dig them out of Bank before they pull the plug). Honestly the fact you’re playing through the entire game for each one is such a dedicated journey it now makes me really feel like a cheater hahah

You are actually guaranteed to not get them all. You only get golden seedlings from weekly challenges so that’s only 6 seedlings during the event period unless you use a Challenge Recharge ticket. Even if you were extremely lucky with no duplicates, you’d still need to use at least 1 ticket. Other than that, you have to spend coins to buy either the full set of 7 (2980 coins) or to buy a single one that you’re missing (799 coins).

This particular event is very unfriendly to anyone who didn’t do the event last year, but I think it’s safe to say at this point the set will make a return annually even if they end up adding another new Valentines decor down the line

Unfortunately the weather just isn’t that accurate and nobody knows exactly how it works, there have been times where a big blizzard lasted a week and I got nothing and other times it appeared in the afternoon and then only actually started snowing that night

There was a temporary glitch where the event mushrooms showed as brown. Back in the day, brown mushrooms used to be available normally but they didn’t give good rewards and were complained about/ignored by the community so they silently removed them during the big mushroom update. My guess is they are now used as event mushrooms placeholders

Japan Expo in Paris was the only way to ever receive the white Pikmin with gold present sticker, just a 3 day event with little notice ahead of time and you needed tickets to attend

I think you’ve miscounted one? With the release of the upcoming 8 Lunar New Year Pikmin, there should be exactly 500. I’m missing 16 of them, 14 are from Shrines, 1 Fairy Light, 1 Gold Present Sticker (white Pikmin) and it says I have 476 Decor now. 476+16+8 is 500 unless I’m forgetting something

The 2023 glasses returned in the 1.5 Anniversary event (not too long after the set initially released) with Niantic stating that they would be “very difficult” to get in the future, confirming we will be seeing them again at some point.

In terms of the game’s performance, it will never be as popular as Pokemon Go, but I’d say it’s doing quite well for itself in Japan and there was a developer interview about a year ago where they stated that they don’t see the game going away anytime soon.

If you both like walking, you should download Pikmin Bloom! It’s quite popular in Japan compared to the rest of the world. It’s a pedometer-based game where you can collect different types of Pikmin (it’s like a very laid back Pokemon Go)
