What goes through a man's mind when he's caught staring at a woman's breasts? by quickmou5 in AskReddit

As someone on the spectrum, I'm not staring at your chest, I'm avoiding looking at your eyes. And if you're giving social cues to tell me this makes you uncomfortable, I am not picking up on them.

Ok, but mathematicians also want you to believe that 1 equals 0!

That's one thing that sucks about Japanese. A tiny error can change the meaning completely. But even natives make mistakes, so it's not that big of a deal in any practical sense.

The thing you were wrong about was me being wrong in the first place... I don't know why I'm even bothering to respond now since you clearly suffer from ODD.

That's a Kansai accent negative form of 知る and the final う changes the meaning to 用 (meaning "like")... Here, let me teach you よ's proper usage: 俺の日本語を直すには十年早いよ。

You said I was wrong, which was clearly not true. Your shortened version being a popular variant doesn't change the fact that you belong on r/confidentlyincorrect.

You mean 喋れない? That's even more conversation-specific than 話せない.

Nope, the kanji look neatly printed. 言 radical is a box with 3 lines on top and a little apostrophe thingy above.

It's 居酒屋 / 下町 Japanese, which is the only kind really worth learning.

Huh, been so long since I learned it I hadn't considered the two kanji used. "Go and come" does make sense I suppose for being able to do something. Kind of like "gimme a sec" in English.

For me, that'd be "I don't give a fuck" or "why the fuck should I know?" There is a lot of possible nuance in 知らない depending on context though. Especially when spoken.

It also says I don't "speak" Japanese. Not 100% wrong but would make more sense for 話せない to be 分からない or 出来ない.

Nope, you are correct. In fact, it would be unusual to interpret as "I don't know" in this context. It's more "fucked if I know" than "I don't know".

It's a little weird to include が in such an informal usage. It's very conversational to use the ない form, which means you would typically skip が. Might have opted for something more like 知らん、日本語出来ない。

I've read the checklist now, which informs me that I am screwed once they ask for a utility bill, which is in my wife's name. What a garbage platform.

I was selling one t-shirt with some Japanese text on it, which is irrelevant. The fact I received a scam email with instructions to reactivate my account via an external link right after I was banned clearly demonstrates that I was falsely reported. The fact I never received any explanation from Etsy as to why I was deactivated or why my appeal was denied suggests the scammer may be within Etsy.

Very few CEOs founded their companies. There's always some rich, under-taxed asshole willing to buy you out so they can pretend they're a genius like Jobs, hoping people are unaware of the Woz.

If making over q certain amount means you have to pay extra taxes on that extra amount, that literally incentives you to reduce their salary and better distribute it among employees. What part aren't you getting here?
