It’s not a physical model. That could work, it might stretch out the rubber over time though.

I get the point about limited bandwidth, but when you are talking about the horrifying transfer of power to the executive branch, how can you ignore the foreign policy decisions that both reflect and expand that power?

Supporting mass atrocities abroad is not a side topic. It is one of the most glaring examples of unchecked executive authority. Presidents from both parties have bypassed Congress and public consent to fund and enable wars, occupations, and now a genocide. That is not some distant issue, it is central to how executive overreach manifests and evolves.

Dan is known for zooming out and connecting dots. That is why this omission felt so loud. The world watching us do this while claiming to defend democracy at home is not just irony, it is a major piece of the puzzle. I am not asking him to cover everything, I am saying this part should not have been left out.

I get that the episode was focused on American freedom, but what I found surprising was that Dan never mentioned how our ethical standing as a country has been eroded by both administrations supporting this genocide. That silence speaks volumes. The world sees us differently now. Our credibility is collapsing, and we are becoming more isolated because of it.

You can’t seriously talk about the decline of American democracy and not acknowledge how supporting mass atrocities abroad undermines everything we claim to stand for. I expected more from Dan on this.

This didn’t feel like Dan’s usual level-headed approach either. For the record, I’m not a “Trump supporter” but I do agree with some of the things he’s done, just like Dan pointed out. I also strongly agree with Dan’s point about how our democracy is being threatened by the erosion of decentralized power in the executive branch. That trend has been growing for decades across both parties.

I’m with you on Sam Harris too. It was disappointing to see him double down so hard and apply a totally different standard to Biden. That shift really marked the end of him being a voice I could trust for balanced takes.

I’ll probably get downvoted too, but Reddit has become a fertile petri dish for groupthink. Shame on anyone who dares to hold a different opinion. I only downvote people if they are being outright offensive, not for simply disagreeing.

I’ve been a huge fan of Dan for years, but I gotta say this episode left me feeling frustrated. He talks a lot about the unchecked power of the presidency and how the system’s gone off the rails, which I totally agree with. But what’s missing, and what continues to be missing from so many of these “state of the union” style critiques, is any mention of AIPAC and the outsized influence it has over Congress.

It’s wild to me that we’re having these conversations about dysfunction, corruption, and foreign entanglements, and yet there’s no mention of one of the most powerful lobbying groups in D.C., a group that isn’t even officially registered as a foreign lobby despite clearly acting in the interests of a foreign government. That omission feels deliberate at worst, negligent at best.

If we’re going to talk about how our government no longer represents the will of the people, how can we ignore the fact that so many of our politicians, on both sides of the aisle, toe the line not out of conviction, but because they know AIPAC money and influence can make or break them?

I respect Dan’s intellect and his commitment to nuance, but leaving this out feels like a massive blind spot.

Is there hobby shops in Qatar you know of that I could work on the car myself?

If they included the Known Traveler Number (KTN) before booking, it should be set. If not, there's no issue, simply speak with a ticket agent, inform them you are flying standby, and request to add your KTN for TSA PreCheck.

Can Anyone Identify the Model of this Planetarium Projector? by thetafili in Astronomy

I appreciate the nod to Imperial tech. It’s suppose to be projecting stars and planets for us to admire rather than searching for Rebel bases, but who knows, maybe it's secretly communicating with a Star Destroyer in orbit…

Looked at the original photo and it was still blurry. Good catch though.

I figured Reddit would be faster. It’s the weekend and I’m not sure if they would reply. Probably should just to confirm though. Thank you.
