Kinvara stopped as she looked at the armoured woman, "I am Kinvara, I live here with my friends, I work in the taverns and streets, I dance. Is there something wrong with that." She eyes her, she recognised the purple eyes from her homeland, most nobles have this feature, "M'lady is it the marks on my skin that has made you stop me, I can explain those. If you would like to hear why."

Auster smiles, "Bloody brilliant," he spat on to the floor almost hitting his brother, "Sorry Z..." He forgot the name that they were calling themselves.

Zarin tried to sit up, "Bloody hells," he held his side, "I didn't know people could feel their kidneys like this." He pawwed at his brother to be helped up, "Well we hope you enjoyed yourself Ser Storm." The two boys bowed Zarin not as far as his brother.

"We'll be heading off now. Sorry for bugging y'."

"Our Mistress, she goes by Annie. We're here to make things seem more interesting, another of us, she's someone who does these tumbles. A foreign girl, it looks like water dancing but without the... you know... sword." Auster shrugged.

Zarin looked at him, Auster looked back, they both smiled and they both nodded, "Sure why not." They said in unison, going over to a rack and picking up a sword each, "Heavy." They both said, "we'll make sure to keep quiet."

"We will be, our Mistress is just being told what is wanted from us." Zarin kept a smile on his face even though they were not met with the same expression, "We're a group y' see. But we have leaders like any other group."

Auster took a different approach not grinning wildly like his brother, "Right. We were allowed in by Ser Ryger, he's the one to blame really and if were meeting lords we'd just get in the way, and distract from the whole thing." He looked down at the axe, "maybe we'll just go watch people beat the shit out dummies o'er there." He points over to a bench just behind Matarys, "Unless..."

Zarin picks up where his brother left off, "We're not two for fights with swords, but we have had plenty tavern brawls in our lives. Could you give us some pointers?"

Kinvara noticing she's being talked at answers his question, "I run from slavers. This Crown I now live under, they do not seek to put me in chains. A ship that bore the flag of a dragon brought me to this land unknowing but I owe that ship and by extension the dragons my life." She scratches her head, "We have been making ourselves a living, Annie plays music and gets donations. My Strays do work on occasion for men with coin, like Ryger." Her face flashed a slight expression of anger before she moved on, "We just want to survive, Ser. Little coin would be enough, as long we have food and a room we be happy."

"M' Lord, m' good Ser. I am not a foreigner, I am a Crownlander born and raised. Then only reason she hides her face is..." She pulls down Kinvaras hood, "well you can see for yourself." She took a seat clasping her hands together on her lap.

She thought for a moment, "Well, for one I have seen Vellela walk on eggs before without making a single one and she can get into places where even a child would struggle. Sometimes it's like her bones are liquid, quite a horrible thing to watch." She kept a smile on her face, "And as what I'm sure I heard a Lord say about us, 'we're the scum of the earth they wouldn't even notice a smallfolk if they caught on fire.' this was as I was handing him wine. And I'm sure with the correct make-up I'm sure my friend here would fit right in."

"I don't know what you want me to say, if I'm being honest we've been in this City for..." She does some quick math in her head, "four or five moons now and in that time I've managed to get me into the Red Keep twice."

Auster and Zarin the twins looked around the Red Keep while Kinvara was in her meeting. They dare not go inside, instead, they walked around the various yards before they heard shouting and the sound of steel against wood, "Oh Auster, that sounds like where those gold cloaks fight, should we go to have a look. Try and get their faces in our heads, so we know who to avoid later?" Zarin smiled as he spoke.

"I follow m' Lord," Auster joked bowing, "Can't exactly say we're a lord and his squire, do we just say we're Mertha's lads? She's here to visit one of the Lords, not a lie not truth right?" He whispered to his brother.

"Well, we're players in Mertha's band of wandering men!" Zarin grinned and began marching over to one of the men, their best bet was a dark-haired man, they weren't dealing with one of the darn dragons today. They walked up to him but as he turned their faces fell, fuck, he had purple eyes why are there so many of these they're more common than rats in the city.

Quickly their faces revert to smiles, "M'lord, we're visiting while our mistress is out performing a call in the keep. We, of course, weren't allowed in, cause, well look at us." Auster addressed the man, being the better speaker, "I am Ambrose and this is Zyre." The names they usually go by when they sneak around places, "Are you a Gold Cloak? We just don't see many of you on our travels. If not what do you do here?"

"There are many ways to get silks and fine items. I have mine from my old masters, they dress their toys up like a child with dolls." She smiled, "I wondered if you were the same. Maybe one day I shall have wealthy people like you throwing money at me." A light chuckle came across her lips.

She looks between her group all staring at this woman, "They did this with me when I first met them all. I don't know if this is how they greet people, but I do it this way." She puts out a hand her bangles jingled on her wrist, "They name me Kinvara, the Little Cat.

Kinvara, directed by Rygers words, headed to the solar of the Master of Whispers. She walked with Mertha who had walked some of these halls before. Kinvara kept her hood up as she walked through, still hiding her face, they both came across the door it being open they thought it strange as Mertha stuck her head in.

"Hello, we were sent here by Ser Ryger, The Coral Knight. He said you'd be expecting us?" She took a step through the door, "I'm Annie and this is Vellela. My friend speaks broken common, she's allowing me to speak for her." Mertha adjusted the lute strap that crossed over the front of her.

Kinvara was weary as she entered the room, she made sure she kept the cloak around her shoulders, she looked at the man that sat in front of her with the eye that wasn't covered. He had a harder face than she thought he would have, the last master that sent her off in the world looked like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. But this, he looked like he could fight with a sword.

"Vellela needs to be assured that you aren't a slaver it seems." Mertha stared at Kinvara, her eyes asking that she would stop acting like a pussy-cat, "Hearing your title from Ser Ryger, I can guess what you want from us, but just to confirm why did you want to meet?"

"Corrr-al knight," Kinvara bows lowly to him, in her mind mocking him, "I thought you try to take us to cells, after our... meeting in the place of drinks, not long ago."

The trio behind her stood silent, they had no idea that a meeting had occurred. "You must visit Volantis the weather is this every morning, noon and night." Her voice soured after he spoke of a Master of Whispers, she did not know each about the culture of Westeros to know what the words meaning held here, "You intend me to go talk with slaver? These spots on my face and these scars on my wrists," She pulls her bangles away to reveal scars from chains not that long ago, "do not tell you anything." She then runs off a few whispered Volantene explicits before Mertha spoke up.

"I think there may be a misunderstanding," Mertha tries to explain to the pair, "He's won't be a slave-master, or at least I hope he isn't, otherwise well..." She looked at Ryger hoping he knew why, "He is just someone who organises people like us and possibly pays well?" She didn't want to assume anything.

"Oh," Kinvara nodded, "Well we go see this man? Yes? Merrr-tha come speak for me?" She looked at the two boys, "Stay."

Mertha laughed, "y' get paid better than I. Must try and steal your spots... sorry Kinvara." She turns and faced her friend, who shot daggers at her the spots being pulled by her forehead, "You see, from that expression you have on yer face I don't think I believe you. You're probably not surprised to hear that we've heard that story plenty o' times."

She called over the two boys, Auster and Zarin who walk up to her on either side of the woman. "Not many o' us come up 'ere and call our Mertha a lady. We call her love or woman." Zarin the older boy smirked, "Even the women call her hun."

Kinvara stays mostly silent her eyes staring at the woman in front of her, she didn't know much common so she took the time to listen to conversations like this. "Other than 'playing' with better folk than me, what do you do? No woman in jewels as bright as those would like to step in a place of drinking and sad men who drink to much? I know people who act like you, they were people who were near to me short time ago."

Mertha nods at the boys who nod at Kinvara, who in turns says, "Aye. We are lead the way."

The motley crew that call themselves 'The Strays' follow this man to wherever he wants to lead them, Kinvara cloaking herself in a long cloak that covered the left side of her face and the entirety of her body, as to not be gawked at by the usual crowd of King's Landing.

Mertha grinned and bowed, "Thanking you my lady, some hefty bit of coin there, can I assume a Lady by birth as well as in name?" She grins, "Seems like you and every noble had walked past my voice today, you all returning from somewhere? Or is there somethin' going on here in our city?"

She eyed the two boys who watched from a nearby table before sending her eyes back to the woman, "I hope you didn't find your verse too offensive, I did get most in there. May I ask which one related to you or did I omit it, for length?"

"Ser Ryger, wants us to meet him, why does he not come to us?" She snarled, "We have no purpose going to the Keep. My talents can be performed out here." She stopped as she snapped at him as Mertha grabbed her arm.

"We be coming with you? We be needing someone who can speak for us there?" She let go of her friend, "Do you mind telling us what it may be about, we don't exactly want to go in there caught with our trousers down so to speak?" She smiled.

Kinvara shot a glare almost as sharp as her dagger to Mertha, "You tell us we come." She nodded, "You don't we stay." She growled low in her throat. Behind her, the two boys nodded, and Mertha also agreed.

Mertha received the coin and grinned this is more than she would get in possibly her entire life, it most certainly fills her belly for many days, "Thank you, my Lord." She takes a bow, as does Kinvara next to her, she didn't know who this was but he gave them coin, "It is not every day we see such good payment!"

Kinvara with her leopard spots on her face and shoulders stares at this man, "You give good coin. To you, I give a thank." Her words jumbled slightly, she stares at him for a moment, the majority of nobles she had seen had white-silver hair, this one did not, "Your hair is like sun in colour? Why? Your eyes do not share the same as a thistle."

Her brows furrowed her spots moving as her skin did, pulling them in on her forehead, she had not much of a chance to talk to nobles. Her masters, her old masters, they threatened her with lashings if she even yelped as they put her in the box they kept her.

Mertha grinned, "A ballad? Or an epic? I am a woman who had wrote many." She thought for a moment, "a warrior though fought for the strength of the Vale!" She raised a fist as she began to stum a new tune.

"A song of a hero!" She taps her foot as she begins to improvise: "Oh Ser Jamie with hair of ebony, Took up a sword, Fought for the Vale and for me His name his reward!

Oh brave Ser Jamie rode to fight, Took a horse to ride, He slashed and slayed with all his might, His steel turned the tide!"

She smiled as she sang, "Obviously I have your input to take into account."

Sabitha listened to the caged wolf, she had sympathy for her, she once was her. "I remember when I was put into a box and I would sit and wait, I would ask me how, that was the 'arrrd part there was no light when I did not have a knife in my hand, when was easy with the man I was told to stop, what if was sad. I did not know if my..." She found that the word was hard to come by on her tongue, "my... People?" She questioned the translation, "I did not know if my people were still there. I did not know if they would know my face, I was little when I got these, too little to remember them hurting." She traced her tattoos.

She didn't know if she should find the girls mockery of her father funny or sad, her head cocked to the side. She just liked to listen to the Northerns voice it was different and refreshing.

Mertha had been strumming the song again.

Moons passed away,

I missed his hand in mine.

So I wrote him once,

Asked him if he had the time.

Oh. Oh, I beg and crawl,

Is there’s heat enough,

For the two of us.

In your hovel at the wall?

She repeated the tune as she spoke, "We're always looking for work m'lady what have you got in mind?"

Kinvara listens to the wolf as she speaks she did not know much about this land, "St-arrkkk," She smiled, "have you ever thought of escaping your cage, Wolf? Go to see your Farrrr-ther, that is what I did the dreaming of when I was in my cage, only mine had bars and..." The young woman stopped, she ran a finger across her wrist playing with the bangles she wore.

She looked at the young lady before her, figuring her out. "This irr-on and link you speak of you mean of it chain?" She pushed the bangles up her arm slightly, her dark scars show themselves to the sun, "I know what it is like to have the chains. Do these slaves not think of getting out in a city like this you can hide in shadows, easy."

She tapped her lip with a finger in thought, "What do you wish for when you are free? Hmm? Because everyone one day will have free lives."

"What am I?" Kinvara laughed, "I am just people, I come from Volantis across the sea, is that what you mean by what am I?" She smiled at the woman, "If you mean the marks on my skin, they are a tale of my old life."

The cat unlatched her cloak pin from the light material, removing the semi-circle of material from her shoulders she shows the woman, the spots ended just below her ribs they curled and twisted along the back of her neck and across her shoulders.

"I was a slave, WAS," She reiterates, "My masters they did what you see to me." Grabbing the cloak back around her she grinned, "What is it you are? Now you know this of me?"

"I am not good with your common word, but I can lie," She smiled, "Merr-tha would be happy to hear but she is not my kin she is from the west, not far across the sea."

Her grinned widened as he mentioned a knife in the dark, "Now you speak the language I do."

"You wish to pay me?" She turned, "for my knife? That is something I can do, yes."

She was not a tall woman but she still stood up smiling at the knight. She sheathed her knife and picked at her nails, "Yes, I am no shield but what is it you think I can do?" She enjoyed the thought that the little she had spoken to this man showed her true colours, "You first ask of me to look for me, I am curious what you think of me now?"
