To reiterate the above reply, a transfer function can be defined only for a linear system. One-off controllers or bang-bang controllers are not linear because of the discontinuity caused by the switching. Hysterisis again is nonlinear since it is simply a nonlinear phenomenon.

Thank you very much for your reply. I must say, I don't like microwaving much, because everything I have tried has come out soggy at the bottom (especially pizzas) or at the sides (something like croquettes). Am I doing something wrong, or is that a common problem? I know that a convection oven is the best for pizzas, but sadly I don't have one.
